Everything about this place was awesome. I showed up for lunch on a rather nice Saturday. The kind of day that just makes you want to eat outside. Now I generally don't care for eating outside while the suns up. Mostly because the sun is a real jerk, it's all the time trying to either blind me , burn me, or change the weather patterns, however this day most definitely called for outside dining and Valentina well she delivered in spades. Now most restaurants have four old dumb boring walls that are always just there supporting the ceiling and preventing the effects of the weather. Now Valentina's her walls do that too, but they are a cut above because they open up to let in all those good good nature vibes. The breeze, the light, the cure for all that which ails you, and without having to wear enough spf that people confuse you for Marlon Brando from The Island of Dr. Moreau. A nice high bar to belly up to where you can order a plethora, a schmorgizborg, perhaps even a cornucopia, what I mean to say is a lot of different cocktails and beers. I tell you this brothers and sister, after receiving my drink, I immediately thought Valentina should have entered the MLB's Home Run Derby, because the knocked it out of the park. Plus the single giant ice cube with the V, just superb. Pasiamo al cibo, or in English, lets go to the food. I had hands down the second best spaghetti and meatball of my life. Second not because of quality but for nostalgia. Valentina's just can't top my grandparents, but they came pretty darned close. So close in fact if I took a plate to my granddaddy he'd most likely crawl out of his grave. The sauce was this creamy red nectar clearly meant for the gods and yet we mere mortals are able to indulge in such a divine creation. The noodles so tender and playful in its interactions with that same sauce. One bite and I thought "This, this could bring peace on earth" Then lastly the meatballs. Most places would give you two, maybe three puny little meatballs, but not Valentina's. Here you got one giant friggin' meatball. This meatball is the stuff of legend. This meatball looked like the king of all meatballs. It was so big it nearly gave me a complex, and that's to say nothing of the taste. That first bite into it made me so euphoric, so joyful, so exuberant I instantly said get lost seasonal depression, keep stepping bad vibes. This meatball was tender and with just the right amount heat to linger on the tongue. This is the kind of meatball that makes you wanna quit your job and pursue your passions. In conclusion awesome service, great drinks and even better food. Also I just realized the walls may not have been retractable, there's a chance they were just...
Read moreMy family and I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant today, located in the beautiful Bridge Park area. The outside decor was tastefully done, blending in seamlessly with the surrounding restaurants. However, the only downside of our experience was when we entered without a reservation; we were offered only a seat outside, which made us feel a bit unwelcome, as if we weren't good enough to sit indoors.
Since we were in a hurry for lunch, we decided to skip the starters and jumped straight to our main course. Our order consisted of the margarita and five cheese pizzas. Both pizzas were generously topped with high-quality cheese, and the dough had a delightful airy and crisp texture, with a decently cooked undercarriage. I would rate them an impressive 8.1 out of 10.
To complement our meal, I tried the truffle old fashioned, which turned out to be fantastic and perfectly balanced. The combination of flavors was spot-on. As for dessert, we had the tiramisu and vanilla gelato. While the tiramisu was good, it didn't quite surpass the best I've ever had, earning a respectable score of 6.7 out of 10. On the other hand, the vanilla gelato was simply amazing, scoring an impressive 9.2 out of 10.
We were fortunate to have Dylan as our server, who was incredibly nice, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. His service added to the overall positive experience.
In conclusion, I highly recommend trying out this restaurant. Despite the initial seating hiccup, the quality of the pizzas, the delightful truffle old fashioned, and the heavenly vanilla gelato make it worth a visit. We plan to return next week to explore other menu items besides the pizza and will share our updates.
Recently, my wife, a couple of friends, and I seized the opportunity to try a selection of dishes from the menu. The wait was quite long, approximately 1.5 hours, but the experience turned out to be worth it. Having had appetizers at another location earlier, we proceeded directly to the entrees. I opted for a bottle of wine, which my waiter struggled to open, but I understood that she was new and will likely improve with time. Despite the minor hiccup, she was incredibly friendly throughout.
As for the food itself, it was a delightful experience overall, and I would rate it 8.1 out of 10. The flavors were wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Despite the lengthy wait and the minor issue with the wine, the overall experience left us satisfied and pleased with the...
Read moreAmazing Restaurant with a great atomosphere. We had dinner for 5.
Value vs Price: Excellent IF they can continue the level which were had for dinner. Not overly expensive nor cheap. Great value all around. Got out for 5 for around $350+ tip with everyone having 2 drinks, maincourse, and apps.
Appetizers. ARANCINI (Fried Rossoto): Some of the best we have ever had with a great dipping sauce. Definitely give it a try. Pepporoni Pizza: Fantastic with flakey crust and ranch i requested was on point. House Bread with olive oil: Simply delicous, no complaints
Drinks: AN ODE TO PEPE (Pineapple Martini): Really good flavor but could use a little more booozieness. Martinis were meant to be stiff. TRUFFLE OLD FASHIONED: Very boozy, excellent orange flavor, nice glass, CLEAR ICE!!! (This is essential). Overall excellent LINDA EVANGELISTA: Amaretto with cherry foam. Tasty drink, the foam not my style but fun to try.
Dinner: Filet: Delivered, amazing with great texture. We did have one undercooked which they quickly remedied. For frame of reference I use The Barn Filet as my staple for comparison. I would most definitely order again. Lasagna: Ultra Massive portion with amazing flavor. Couldn't complain. Did side of spaghetti with red sauce which was delicous. Chicken Parm: Chicken was massive and delicous full of flavor. Served with white alfredo which sadly underperformed the entire experience. (see final thoughts)
Dessert: CHOCOLATE EVOO CAKE - Yummy chocolate cake (tasted like flourous torte) with real whip cream. We shared this and thoroughly enjoyed.
Final Thoughts: Amazing dinner, great atomosphere, tasty drinks. My construction criticism would be: Get the Alfredo recipe tuned in, it was runny and lacked flavor and wasn't consistent to the rest of the meal. As served I would not order anything with their white sauce. Add sea salt grinders to the tables. Table salt at establishment like this for foodies bit insulting and is a nice touch. Lastly with the house bread, definitely add the option to have your oil with red whine vinaegrette or a nice italian herb blend. Our server Jeremy was kind, attentive, and full of energy. Bravo to Cameron for another successful launch. We will be back!
Tips: Book WAYYYY in advance on open table. It's books up...
