Chungs Teriyaki is another restaurant I have driven by on numerous occasions and have failed to stop and try. I'm not sure why but I made an effort to stop today and order some chicken teriyaki. And what was even better was that I was able to order a half order of it! The drive-through quickly became busy, with two cars in front of me and three behind me; I knew this place had to be great!

My meal came with white rice, but I paid the difference for fried rice, and the chicken teriyaki laid neatly on top of it. This half order also came with a side of noodles and cabbage; although the menu reads stir-fried vegetables, it didn't quite seem stir-fried to me. Like almost every place I have ordered teriyaki from, the presentation was visually appealing, and the aroma, very aromatic! I was hungry, so I pulled off into the parking lot to sink my teeth into some teriyaki chicken. Low and behold, the chicken teriyaki was delicious, with many bold flavors happening in the sauce. It took everything in me not to gobble that up, however, I know I would have regretted eating that much, plus I always want my husband to try the foods I get from different places. So, the rice, I wasn't much of a fan of their fried rice; there was a flavor that threw me off, not that I could tell you what I was tasting, but it wasn't hitting my tongue very well and left an odd after taste. And the noodles/cabbage stir-fry, the mixture was fine in taste but a little plain for my liking, and if those veggies were stir-fried, it must have been a quick pass over the flame; nonetheless, they weren't terrible.

The grounds and parking lot around Chungs Teriyaki were clean; the gentleman who rang out my order was amiable, not very chatty but had manners. As I have said with other reviews, an employee's behavior can make or break a business. In the long run, I plan to revisit Chungs, and hopefully soon, I really want to try their Vietnamese egg rolls and vermicelli bowls, and my husband wanted to try their banh mi sandwiches. So the star rating may change on my next visit!

Chung's Teriyakis location is 3111 Bucklin Hill Rd, Silverdale, Washington. Between Taco Time and Taco Bell.

I've loved Chung's for so many years. My husband and I usually share a steak and brisket phó and a teriyaki chicken. That's been our go-to order for a long time! It's delicious! But at some point last year I decided to try a chicken vermicelli bowl just out of curiosity... I had never had one before but it sounded interesting. Oh my goodness it's AMAZING!! Like it's my new favorite thing to eat and I want to eat it all the time!! I’ve never been a huge fan of egg rolls but an egg roll always comes with the vermicelli bowl so I got to try one. I'm now in love with the egg rolls too! Now we usually end up ordering extra egg rolls because they're so delicious! I got my husband hooked on the vermicelli bowls also. He really likes them too! You should try it if you never have. It has a lot of the same stuff pho has in it except add lettuce instead of broth obviously. It's not a soup! And there's cucumbers in it too (I actually feel like it's a healthier option when it comes to fast food). The sauce on it is great! Try it if you never have! The service here is...

I went through the drive-thru to order a small side of rice and a small side of grilled chicken with the teriyaki sauce on the side. My total, including tax, was $9.81. I fed myself, my small dog, and I still have half the rice and chicken left over for another meal.

As far as teriyaki and rice are concerned, they're all pretty much the same. I did not know that this was a Vietnamese restaurant that caters to the crowd that typically goes for teriyaki. I just wanted it for something that I could share with my dog and not have to worry about upsetting her stomach or mine.

What set this restaurant apart from others for me is the customer service. The young man at the drive-thru today was one of the best, and most polite, customer service reps that I have ever run into in a takeout and restaurant environment. Kind, respectful, friendly, he was generally a pleasure to deal with and I hope that I have the Good Fortune to have him help me again.

My only regret? I didn't...

I've had better beef teriyaki EVERYWHERE else. The "fried rice" they charge you $1.50 extra for was no better than some poorly cooked white rice muddled around with some chicken bits and a hint of scrambled egg. I picked up some egg rolls and didn't even make it through half of one of them before I tossed it. The oil they used to fry it must have been rancid because it tasted terrible. The worst offender was the "yakisoba" that came in the container... The cabbage obviously barely touched the heat and it was overly oily with an off flavor. I can't believe I paid $25 for this garbage! (That's literally where it went mostly uneaten...) I came here because the reviews made it out to be pretty good. I'd rather keep going to Heidi's across the street! Less expensive and actually give you what you've ordered... Edible food.

I do not usually give reviews unless they are positive, but this is a bit ridiculous. The flavor of food and timeliness of service is good, aswell as helpful/friendly staff. I'd like to start off with the positives. Unfortunately the last several times I have ate there I have received 90% cabbage with my chicken teriyaki meal. I hate cabbage and have asked for it not be added to my noodles and they said they don't do that. Okay fair enough. However since then it's only gotten worse. I think this would be an easy issue to fix, but in the meantime I will just go elsewhere. If you're not a huge cabbage fan, get the fried rice only with your teriyaki chicken or go elsewhere.
