Coffee Republic — Restaurant in Washington

I really like Coffee Republic - they are a great alternative to that monolithic evil empire coffee company that I refuse to give any more money to. They make excellent drinks, both simple classics as well as fun craft lattes with interesting flavors along with a bunch of other drinks and food. The people working there are genuinely kind and have good energy. The decor is interesting and it’s great that they have tables if you want to enjoy your coffee there. The only reason I can’t give them a 5 star rating is that the mobile order experience is very lacking sometimes. Unfortunately, the mobile app never has any of the special seasonal drinks on the menu, which is a real shame as those are the primary reason I go there- I like variety! Also, I know craft coffee takes time to make, so I always order ahead when I’m heading to work and don’t have time to wait 10 mins for a drink. Unfortunately, 50% of the times when I’ve ordered ahead (usually a good 10-15 mins before I get to the shop), my order has not been ready when I got there and didn’t even begin to get made until someone noticed I’d been waiting in the pick up area and checked the mobile orders to find my order. They always hustled to get it made quickly, which I appreciate, but this happens often enough that I tend to order from other places nearby that I know will have my order ready when I arrive unless I have extra time to wait. I would visit much more often if they addressed these two minor but important-to-me issues. Still, I’m very happy to have a local coffee chain in the area and will continue to stop...

Not worth your time or money. We stopped in to this coffee shop excited to try it because of the raving reviews. We weren’t in a big rush, but after 25 minutes of waiting without a word from any of the staff members, we were getting hungry and wondering why a cold brew and latte was taking so long. They didn’t offer any kind of acknowledgment or apology for making us wait so long. Even after asking about our order the barista made new customer’s drinks before ours. 35 minutes after ordering we finally got our food and two drinks only to discover that they made the wrong drinks!! We were so frustrated at that point that it wasn’t worth telling them they didn’t even get our order right. We asked about a refund or some kind of compensation and got nothing.
