I do NOT recommend this Cosi restaurant. I've been here more than once (3 times) hoping that my past experiences were just bad luck, but the service is just POOR. The food is okay, not spectacular. You can do better at Corner Bakery or Au Bon Pain for the same type fare.
At lunch time; the lines are usually very long. On one visit in particular, I came in for breakfast when it was empty and one other customer and I had to wait several minutes for someone just to take our order and money. I think check-out setup is awkward. You order in one line; wait in a second to pay for food and low and behold, your food STILL isn't ready. On visit #2 they gave me the wrong order and then I had to wait AGAIN for them to start from scratch. So much for a quick to go order
On the third visit, I only ordered a green tea smoothie (delicious!) but high in price for the 8 ounces they gave me. Again more waiting. What's worse is that you can't even call ahead because they don't answer the phone.
Too bad...I work right across the street, but this obviously is NOT a match made in heaven. I give up on this place forever. Save time and just pick another lunch spot. I'm not a hater, but I'm also...

So, Cosi has been on a long slow decline even before the pandemıc, but now with hybrid work they've lost all but one in DC and frankly they're not even trying anymore.
To start, they leave all their boxes and stock and paperwork all over the dining area, not even bothering to keep this in the appropriate areas out of sight of the customers. The whole premises is basically an office/store room. They also don't bake the bread fresh anymore, and the bread oven at this location sits lonely and unused.
There are very few customers and it will close soon too like all the others, it's just sad because I used to be a fan of Cosi and wish it had been more popular.
Get your last sandwich from them while they still exist, it won't...
Read moreI recently visited Cosi in Washington D.C. and unfortunately, my experience was quite underwhelming. I ordered the tandoori sandwich, hoping for a flavorful and satisfying meal, but what I received was anything but. The sandwich itself was remarkably bland and dry. It essentially consisted of a piece of bread, some chicken, and what tasted like plain balsamic salad dressing. There was a distinct lack of any vibrant tandoori flavor, and the overall impression was one of a very low-effort assembly. For the price, I expected something more substantial and well-thought-out. A better condiment, perhaps a creamy raita or a spicy chutney, along with more fresh vegetables, could significantly improve this sandwich. As it stands, it felt like a missed opportunity and definitely not...
