Georgetown Gourmet — Restaurant in Washington

My daughter and I went here for a quick lunch. The sandwiches were delicious with quality ingredients. Additionally, I can't say enough about the people who work at this establishment. I think they were the owners but everything happened quickly. There was an unfortunate incident outside the establishment. An Asian couple was attacked by a man. People on the street chased the man away. The owners ran outside to help. Brought towels, waters and chairs outside until the authorities arrived. They continued to support the victims and the police officers inside the establishment offering drinks and food. I was so impressed by the goodness and empathy that was demonstrated. Georgetown is a beautiful area but it is not immune to deranged individuals. The natural reaction and response by these folks to aide this couple...

I had a poor experience here yesterday. Was in the mood for a smoothie, double checked both their website and takeout menus to confirm they still had them, walked the 20 minutes to get there, became even more excited to see "smoothies" written in big letters across the front windows and door in 2 places, and then was told upon entering that they don't serve smoothies anymore. Furthermore, the woman at the counter did not seem sympathetic, she did not offer me any alternatives, she just stated that they stop serving them in the fall and winter (which still doesn't make sense to me). I walked to a convenience store and bought one, so I was fine, but the lack of consideration to update basic things like your web menu and front windows made me not want...

My friend ordered a sandwich with pesto and we asked if there were nuts in the pesto. He said there wasn't any, so she ordered it. She immediately had an allergic reaction and he said that the basil pesto didn't have nuts but the pesto she ordered had nuts. We had an itinerary to see DC all day and now we are going home so she can recover. Can't believe the server had the audacity to argue with us over an ALLERGY. Also, we asked for water to help soothe the allergy and we were charged...
