Update March 22- product concistancy has become a real issue. The amount of meat on the gyros can very wildly. Yogurt is especially bad. Some staff will only provide 1 small spoonful of rose and black cherries others will provide the proper serving. Due to the inconsistencies I can no longer recommend this GRK fresh location as it is unknown what you will receive. Wow! That gyro is delicious! The staff members are super friendly and it felt good to support a family-owned business. They also have Frozen Greek yogurt and fresh Greek yogurt, which I can't wait to try. There prices are super affordable for this area. The food taste authentic and it is wrapped very well that it would work good for to go as well. There are many seating options, both indoor and outdoor seating. The minute you smell your food, you won't regret what you ordered! The location is extremely convenient for both locals and tourists visiting the downtown DC area. We have tried all of their Greek yogurt combinations and my one complaint is that they are far too stingy on the toppings. Below is a photo of cherries with walnuts and an order of salted caramel. I do not recommend placing the order for salted caramel as it only comes with one topping instead of the traditional two and adds very little...
Read moreThis is actually my second time trying this restaurant after a very underwhelming first visit. The first time around, I ordered a Griller on a Plate w/ Bistek, Greek Fries, and Yogurt Lemon Garlic Salad, and it had potential.... if it didn't taste like it was prepared 3 days ago. The food quality was a bit off-putting and wasn't even remotely fresh. The rice was hard and dry, the beef was okay but lukewarm at best, and the salad was drenched in dressing.
I decided to try it again today, but this time I ordered one of the preset signature dishes- the GRK Mediterranean Bowl- and I was met with the same results sadly. The quality of the food is just not there and it feels like you're being served 2-3 day old leftovers. I also ordered a mini pita pie that wasn't heated up at all, but it did taste good. Not sure if they make them in store or if they're frozen and then served once heated up, but that's what I would attribute the food temperature to...
The staff is very nice and friendly, the store front has been clean the two times I did stop in, but that's all it has...
Read moreUnfriendly staff. I was working as a fundraiser outside and was going to use the bathroom quickly and couldn’t find an open shop to go. Instead of greeting me as I walked through the door to the bathroom, they yelled very rudely at me in front of all their costumers saying I couldn’t use the bathroom and had to buy something. I told them I was working outside doing fundraising for non profits and they still yelled across the room at me I wasn’t allowed. I’m sure their food is delicious, but if the staff chooses to be that unaccommodating to fundraisers or kind people just needing to use the bathroom I don’t care how good the food is. It shows the character of the people GRK hires, or at least whomever was working today (5/18/23) in DC on F and 10 th street. Just wanted to share as I think it is important to provide feedback on a business specifically in how they treat people who walk through their door. Its not just about food they prepare its treatment of people. It’s all about approach and kindness. Didn’t feel that at all and left feeling very...
