Lidu's kitchen — Restaurant in Washington

It is a very, very simple place: not fancy at all, but very clean. The service is correios, although a bit slow (good reason: all dishes are made from scratch). Come here with time to spare. I tried the beef sambosa (very spicy): ok in terms of flavor. Then the two traditional Ethiopian dishes: injera, the pancake (it is a COLD dish, surprisingly) and the tbs, chunks of (cheap cut) beef cooked in a local flavor stew. The latter was hard to chew... We enjoyed a wonderful meal here. The sambusas were amazing -- really great spices -- and the veggie platter was delicious. They kindly provided some complimentary coffee, which made the experience more fun. We enjoyed sitting outside, but there are only two available tables. Absolutely incredible Ethiopian food with the kindest owners. We ordered the veggie platter and sambusas and it was delicious! Owners clearly care so much about their customers satisfaction and were willing to go above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience.
