My first time visiting black whiskey I had the worst experience ever. The bartender/ owner Mark was extremely drunk and put a broken glass to his neck after taking a shot with a patron. I made a harmless comment stating “ Don’t do it they really need you here.” He asked me to repeat myself so I did and then proceeded to YELL at the top of his lungs at me. I then tried to wait for the next bartender because of course I did not want to give him my money. The other bartender was extremely busy and couldn’t get to me. Mark then came over and asked what I would like. I told Mark I wanted 2 rail whiskey shots with a large rocks. I handed him $40 not knowing the price. He then gave me my drinks and did not return my change. I stood there waiting for awhile for him to acknowledge me and he never came back and he continued to over look me. I tried to grab his attention and he continued to ignore me. I asked one of the patrons to go grab my friend and she came over and he ignored her as well. She went to grab another patron a guy and he tried to get the guy to give me my money back and he still refused and tried to force me to get another round of drinks instead. I told him I was not interested and I would like my money back. He then proceeded to ignore me again. I walked away and a patron chased me down and gave me $20 out of his pocket. This guy seems to be very racist and has no respect for his patrons. I do not recommend anyone go here at all. STOP SUPPORTING BLACK WHISKEY UNTIL THEY GET RID OF MARK. He had no right to treat me that way at all and he stole my money. How can you run a business that way. I will...
Read moreWhew, damm how far this once dope dive bar has fallen.. I have been a regular pool player here for 15 yrs, but wont be coming back. There is a nice free pool table, that is apparently locked down by a short white woman with glasses, whom others whispered is the house /queen/king. After her and her partner lost their game, with myself next on board, she attempted to rack, explaining to next person she is playing. There was an entire stupid fiasco where I actually had to put a pool ball in my pocket, to stop the intimidating woman with glasses from continuing to play. Security approached me, and was a absolutely stupid interaction. The "Karen" reported me, but was in the wrong. After I asserted myself to the security guard whom attempted to bounce me, I made him look stupid. There is a clear sign up list, for next player up, and clear protocol to call names for next up, which this "Karen" did not do, refused to do, and looked at me crazy when I stopped her from racking after she lost, without calling names. The weird security guard seemed to have her back.. On another game I played later with partner, these weirdos played back-to-back shots when we were down to 1 balls each side, while I was coaching my teammate. I dont gaf we lost, but I understand why all my pool enthusiasts have left this spot...
Read moreStumbled in here on my stay for Labor Day weekend picked a random bar coming from NC with no knowledge of the bar the doormen were friendly and welcoming but that must have been a front because soon as we got inside we immediately felt we were in a party that we weren’t invited to the bar tender bearded black guy was extremely rude and unwelcoming he automatically closed my tab out after I ordered my drink without even asking then asked the white male queer beside me did he want to keep his tab open I then mentioned this to him “like hey you didn’t ask me you closed my tab “ he responded you’re in my service area no apology or anything just unwarranted rudeness my partner then realized we were the only women in the bar I never knew that mattered or cared but obviously it does. It’s sad that they were eager to service white male clearly queer individuals but went out of his way to be rude as if money doesn’t spend the same . The drink sucked on top of that . Will never return which is...
