There is a lot to unpack. But with that being said, it's a solid sandwich joint. Now I had their classic turkey. It didn't wow me but it was good. The ingredients were fresh but they weren't bursting with flavor. The staff is quick and they remember your order as you give it them. My sandwich preparer had a case of the Mondays which is okay but you should never let anyone set you sweat, especially when you're in the midst of slapping meat on bread. Also the place was extremely crowded (around lunchtime in DC). The line was in and out the door. And their were two lines (one for sandwiches and the other for salads) but the way things were organized you'd think there was one line. After you order the line merges into one. I'm definitely going back to try one of their specialty sandwiches. Maybe I'll try a salad as well. But the name of the joint is The Best Sandwich Place, and when I return I want to taste something that will truly excite my taste buds or make me reminisce of my parents home...
Read moreNo need to roll your eyes. The Best Sandwich Place is indeed one of the best sandwich shops in Washington, D.C. If you aren't looking for it, you may walk passed the small shop next to Toro Toro in downtown DC south of Franklin Square Park. However, it's worth your time.
The owners are friendly as are the workers. The menu is extensive. They sell coffee (even lattes) and breakfast in the mornings and the best salads and sandwiches in downtown in the afternoon until 4pm.
They make most of their ingredients from scratch. Their salad dressings are made in-house. Even their breaded chicken breasts are made daily in the shop. I ordered the crispy chicken melt with breaded chicken, pesto, garlic, and sun-dried tomatoes. It came with a delicious pickle and both the sandwich and garnish were amazing.
They also sell chips and a wide range of drink options. I'd go back every day to try every sandwich. It...

My Buffalo chicken Caesar wrap was full, and it was great. The Buffalo was a nice spice and flavor, it weirdly complimented the Caesar which I didn’t expect. It was full and filling and tasted great.
It was a busy lunch hour and service was FAST. They make your food QUICK. The longest part of my lunch was walking there. Staff are nice and courteous.
My only complaint is the egg in the wrap had a really strong egg salad smell, it’s boiled egg from a deli so I’m not surprised by this at all, I just think I would avoid it next time because now my office smells like egg salad. If I was at home I wouldn’t have cared. That doesn’t take away from the food at all though, it tasted great and was...
