New Tropical Waterfront Beach Club in DC 🍹🌴🏖️

One of PICs and I came to check this out for a possible event. It's such a cool little spot with a beach vibe right here in the city. Everything, the staff, the atmosphere is so chill and relaxing, just like being on the beach. We meet Sarah who's bartender/manager and she exemplifies that feel. We talked to her about our event and she was way cool. She talked to us about the different areas, what we could and couldn't do, but nothing was too strict or rigid again keeping with that relax, chill vibe. The cove has several areas. One area literally on sand facing the water and though you can see the cars going over the bridge, it's not noisy. There's another area with corn hole and beer pong. There's a covered patio with a dj booth, misting fans and walk area/dance floor directly in front of an end to end bar. There are also semi-private cabanas. To top off the beach vibe, a server walked around offering jello shots and there are food truck stands. On Sunday, Habanero taco was there offering something for everyone. I opted for the 3 streer tacos for $14 (2 shrimp and 1 mushroom) and a side of rice and beans $6. The portions were a decent size and everything was seasoned well. Looking forward to returning, not only for our event, but just to hang out on a beautiful summer day.

Not good Neighbors. There’s no reason to play music late into the night, especially on a Sunday, and especially when there are no customers. Nice pool. Good luck with your buisness. (Update to owner’s response) It’s Sunday 21 July 2024 at 8:30 PM, and the Cove base is kicking, again. The owner’s reply to my original post was dishonest. They did put in a pool. Then filled it with mulch, and covered it with turf. In the fall of 2023, the Cove was left empty for the season with leftover bottles and trash from their last night. It was very strange, and looked like the business went under. Winter and spring storms tore down covers and cushions. Cove trash was delivered into the Anacostia River courtesy of Mother Nature. In the summer of 2024, days of hardworking folks restored the Cove for business, a disappointment for many residents next door in the Maren.

This is an unbeatable spot with gorgeous Talum-inspired atmosphere, but with a stunning view of the Fredrick Douglass bridge and Potomac. Service was impeccable! Food was so yummy, inexpensive, and filling! (So def not your typical mid bar food). But the scenery, music, & overall atmosphere are everything you’d want from the perfect outdoor space!

What I loved most was how diversified the space was. It’s very large, so it has an area for pretty much everyone/every vibe. Cabanas for lounging, sand area near the water for relaxing and taking in the views, tons of seating (& GORGEOUSLY CRAFTED FURNITURE!) for casual dining and chilling with friends, game areas for cornhole and beer pong, and a hoppin dance floor with DJ for the party people! Honestly, it’s perfect for anyone.

I’ll def be going there A LOT!...
