The staff at this location is so exceptional and kind; they really improved my life today in ways they don't even know. Today's staff was Drea and Ty and the front desk, and Maya who was my RN for my hair removal treatment.
I'm sharing a lot in this review so that those amazing people, and who ever their boss is can have context for how amazing they are. I hope they receive proper recognition for how wonderful they are.
Maya is a phenomenal caregiver. My treatment was painless, and I felt so comfortable with her. She's so brilliant about after care- per her recommendations the folliculitis I always struggle with is clearly already under control post treatment. I didn't feel self conscious at all during my procedure, and I also really enjoyed getting to know her, as her personality is so welcoming and calming it was easy to chat during my appointment. She's going to change lives, I think (she changed mine a little!). I felt like my sister was helping me get ready for a date or something... that's the only way I can think to try to explain how good I felt with her.
As for the team at large, what they did for me is really really special- I'm visiting D.C to support my friend who has a terminal illness, and has to undergo some traumatic and invasive procedures. I've been living on her couch for nearly a month, and finally decided to move my overdue laser hair removal appointment to a location here, instead of San Francisco, where I live, as a way to kind of ground myself. Because I've got so much on my mind, I left my phone behind before heading to my appointment. I wasn't concerned about getting myself back after my appointment, but I was concerned about staying in contact with my friend who dropped me off and how to communicate with everyone why I was off the radar for a few hours. Drea at the the desk helped me get a plan together, called me cab, and kindly took down a message to relay to anyone who might think to call the location looking for me. Ty was a sweet companion and really lifted my spirits with fun chat and a little dancing. None of them knew any of this about my situation- they just simply are really kind people who helped me in a time of need, no questions asked. That's not customer service- that's good character and beautiful spirit. They really were such a bright spot in a cloudy time in my life, and I'm leaving this review in hopes that they will be recognized for the wonderful people that are. I wish I could afford to fly to dc every six weeks and finish my treatments with them!
It's easy to be dismissive of people, especially when that person is a scatterbrained, anxious, and probably vaguely annoying lady who's babbling about a yellow cab and no phone (doesn't matter if they're a client, that's still annoying!!). But Drea, Ty, and Maya were NOT dismissive- the were the opposite! They HELPED me with kindness in their eyes and a calming energy and it really meant so much to me.
Also, they're all really hot and fashionable, so I was already a fan even before I found out they are kind!
Thank you so much to these three. Your genuine personalities and kindness really brought me so much happiness and comfort!!! Wishing you all...
Read moreI initially had high hopes for LaserAway, appreciating their competitive pricing and accessibility. However, my recent experiences with their scheduling practices and customer service have been deeply frustrating. On multiple occasions, I was provided an appointment time over the phone, only to later receive calls stating that I had missed the appointment—despite having confirmed the original time. This led to confusion and, seemingly, unfair penalties.
Most recently, at the Navy Yard location, I encountered the same scheduling issue. After taking time off work to attend my appointment, I was told that I had been wrongly scheduled and could not be seen until the following day. When I attempted to address the issue with the manager, my concerns were dismissed rather than acknowledged. Seeking a resolution, I scheduled myself at an Arlington location, however the manager Kelly at the navy yard had escalated the matter to corporate. Unfortunately, rather than working toward a fair solution, my laser package was abruptly canceled, and I was refunded the remaining balance—without any effort to properly address the underlying problem.
As someone managing PCOS, laser hair removal was an important investment in my self-care. LaserAway’s significant discounts made the service financially feasible for me, but this experience has made me question the trade-offs that come with those savings. While I was initially pleased with their services, the handling of my concerns and the lack of customer support have left me disappointed.
I hope that LaserAway reevaluates its scheduling policies and customer care approach, as clearer communication and a more compassionate response to service concerns could significantly improve the overall experience for...
Read moreI had my first laser hair removal appointment today at LaserAway in Navy Yard, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience! Leading up to the appointment, the staff was incredibly knowledgeable, walking me through the entire process and making sure I understood all the pre- and post-care instructions.
I was a bit nervous going in—I have a pretty low pain tolerance, but was pleasantly surprised. LaserAway recently upgraded their lasers for a more comfortable treatment, and it really made a difference. The sensation was just a light prickling, and my clinician was fantastic about giving me a heads-up before we got to the more sensitive spots. She even adjusted the power settings to keep me as comfortable as possible.
Everyone I interacted with was professional, informative, and so kind, from the team performing my procedure to the staff who explained the broader range of services LaserAway offers. I’m so excited to continue my laser hair removal journey here and to explore some of their dermatology treatments too. It truly feels like a one-stop shop for all things...
