I’ve been living at the kelvin almost 3years now, I’d like to think I’m the second most tenured resident here but I don’t keep track of those stats. Make no mistake, I absolutely love my experience here at the building. In my time here the staff turnover especially at the concierge desk has been more regular than I would’ve liked however common sense reminds me that at the end of the day the staff turnover is a completely normal thing. Businesses lose employees for a variety of different reasons but that’s just life. I want to make it very clear to everyone reading these reviews that despite the terrible 1 star reviews remember to weigh the good with the bad. The kelvin is a PHENOMENAL place to live, I have nothing but good things to say about living in the kelvin, I would highly recommend it time and time again. Bernell has done an incredible job stepping up in CJ’s absence. Yes it is unfortunate that Cj no longer is with the kelvin team but c’est la vie. life is like that sometimes, it just happens. Yes CJ was great and did a fantastic job just like Armani and Marwan did when they were here and like our other awesome concierges like Fiona, Justin who work the concierge desk as well. They all strive to do the best job and be there for us to keep the building secure, greet us as we come and go throughout the day and to make sure our packages are received. So please all fellow current residents please for crying out loud! You all need to stop publicly writing bad reviews about the kelvin and the rest of the terrific staff that work here. Stop trying to deter new people from moving here. Staff turnover happens, stuff happens. It’s time to move on. Companies and corporations have laws and regulations they have to follow, disclosing details regarding personnel matters regarding present or former staffing matters is not something they can legally do. Everyone needs to use their common sense way more than they are here. I mean c’mon everyone use your heads and actually think about it… Good employees usually don’t generally just get terminated from a company abruptly without cause… we don’t know the details behind why cj was fired and we never will, because Whatever events that happened leading to CJ’s termination is literally none of any of our business, and legally Bozzuto can not share that information with us as residents. So to my fellow residents writing these absolutely scathing horrible 1 star reviews because a certain staff member who is no longer employed at the kelvin. It’s is truly unfortunate but it is what it is, please stop writing horrible unmerited complaints a situation that none of us have any control over/ of whatsoever and making assumptions of things that we know...
Read moreI’ve been living at The Kelvin for a month and a half and would like to highlight my experience. So far, I’ve truly enjoy my time living here and definitely would recommend leasing here. The location is great (it does get rowdy during baseball season but everything is quiet by 11pm), convenience with having the metro and great food options next door. The one thing that makes this place different is truly the exceptional customer service.
At the time of touring, our leasing agent Niove was so engaged in asking us questions about what we wanted in our apartment and showing us great options. We took several tours around the area and this one was the only one where the leasing agent truly took the time to help us find that special home. She promptly answered questions on the tour, truly listened to our needs and delivered great options. She was prompt in following up and her colleague David stepped in when needed.
Move in day was hassle free! Officer Harris made us feel very welcome and shared with us all the information at the loading dock. He helped us gather a few bell carts to move items and also was courteous to our movers.
Upon moving in the unit could’ve used a quick sweep through but for the most part was very clean and ready. One thing I noticed the following morning (a Sunday) was that we had no hot water. I placed a maintenance request and within hours Al came to the rescue. He was extremely friendly, made us feel welcome and even shared some tips to take care of my plants. I was very impressed with his professionalism and knowledge of appliances and the building.
Lastly, I really want to highlight the exceptional customer service from the Executive Concierge, Bernell. From the first day I moved in, she introduced herself and made herself available to help with anything needed with a warm and caring smile. She is not only great at remembering residents by name, but also significant details about them, truly fostering that sense of community and making the Kelvin feel like home. I’ve seen her go above and beyond for residents. At one point there was a lost child who accidentally took the elevator on his own and she made sure to get him back home safely. She’s always greeting with a smile and positive energy, like most of the staff...
Read moreI went to post an additional review, but I see I can only do one review, so here is my edited review:
This review is solely for two people: Al and Bernell.
My car battery died, and Al did everything in his power to get my car to start up. He’s also let me in my apartment when I’ve forgotten the key and many other things. He is amazing at what he does!
And then Bernell???????? She essentially is running the place compared to a lot of the other concierges I've seen come through here. The turn over rate for concierges here has been pretty high in my almost 2 years living here, and I was honestly happy about this because some of them just didn't seem to care about the job. Some would be gone from the desk for over an hour and nowhere to be found. Others would just leave the package room wide open and grant access to anybody despite there being expensive and important packages in that room. If I had a package that went missing, other people in this position would basically tell me I'm SOL. Normally I wouldn't care about this because it doesn't make a huge difference in my every day life, but considering how expensive the rent is here, I feel like residents should expect quality work from the staff. Bernell on the other hand actually puts so much care and effort into her position. I interact with her pretty regularly, and she is the best concierge this property has ever seen. One time, one of the not-so-great concierges that fit the description above told me that my package wasn't in the back and that there was nothing they could do. Yet 3 days later, Bernell found it within minutes of me telling her that it was missing and even held on to it for me by the desk that way the next time she saw me she could hand it straight to me. In addition to her amazing work skills, she is also a kind and caring person. She's always asking how I am doing and remembers things that I forgot I told her months later. She even says hello to my dog, Axel, every time he walks by her :) Not only does she care about doing her job WELL, she also cares about the...
