The GreenBee Cafe — Restaurant in Washington

The GreenBee Cafe is not a place you stumble upon. It is nondescript as you're walking down the street, and only a keen eye (or a fortunately placed sidewalk sign) indicate that it is there. But if you find yourself there, you're in for a treat.

The sandwiches and soups are delicious (try the buttermilk fried chicken), and the portions are large. You won't come away feeling hungry. The pasta bowls are better than they have any right to be, and though you might not be inclined to enjoy them during the warmer weather you'd be remiss if you didn't give them a chance.

But my absolute favorite are their french fries. As a side to a sandwich or even just a box to-go they are delightful. I'd almost go just for the fries, leaving the sandwiches for another time.

Their prices are a hair higher than other lunch places ($11-$13), but the amount of food that you get for that price is well worth it. I'm a big fan. You will be too when you find...

Yesterday I placed a catering order for 12 people. As an assistant at my company who places a lot of catering orders, it always makes me nervous to use a new/unknown place for an important meeting. It always seems like the more important the meeting, the more problems go wrong with catering. Not here. The food from GreenBee Cafe (we got all box lunches) was beautifully packaged, tasted great, and got rave reviews from all. Most importantly - it was ON TIME (thank you for that, EZ Cater). I have no hesitation in recommending Green Bee Cafe online delivery via EZ Cater for smallish office catering (mine was 12 people). Knew I loved this place from the moment I told the cashier my meal was ‘for here’ and she said ‘ok, I’ll bring it to you with silverware, don’t get the plastic’ - I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that as we all need to be a more cognizant of our waste (especially plastic) usage. Cloth napkins were a nice touch as well.

Now on to the food.... 😋

I had the Egg 🍳 and Smoked Gouda, add avocado, side of Fruit. What I really wanted was the fried chicken 🍗 biscuit, add egg with home fries 🍟 ....but that will have to wait for another time.

The sandwich was delicious 👅 . The Gouda 🧀 was super tasty and the avocado 🥑 set this baby off!

Very high quality food, in the heart of DC, at a good price💸 - highly, highly recommend this...
