Edit The owner has replied very kindly and i wanted to update the rating out of the simple fact that they took to time to reply and see that i truly meant no harm asking for a replacement. Thank you owner for your kind and reassuring response. I hope this helps!
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ I ordered a pizza with fresh mozzarella and when i realized that i didn’t like how it came out (cheese spots on the pizza) i returned it and initially i kindly and calmly told the truth about trying fresh mozzarella and that i didn’t think that meant my pizza would just have spots of cheese on it and not be covered with cheese like house blended. (I’m not a pizza expert and i don’t know everything about pizza)
The manager said “well if you want a replacement i would have to charge you for the second pizza” Note Not a single moment in my disagreement with the manager, which lasted for more than 7 minutes did he mentioned that i could just get a refund**
During the back and forth this manager tells me “Well it would be a loss for the business if i gave you a replacement pizza because no one would have paid for the new one” and i said “just because the customer makes a mistake doesn’t mean you can dictate if they should get a replacement or not secondly i paid for the pizza that i gave back to you so no you don’t get additional money from me when i gave you the first pizza back UNTOUCHED”
So after our disagreement i finally decided to give up getting the replacement pizza which was a huge let down because i wanted to surprise my grandmother and aunt since they haven’t had a descent pizza in a long time and i felt DC Pizza was a great spot.
When i realized that i didn’t ask for a refund, i went back and asked for it and the manager, to my surprise, was more than happy to give me my refund and he did, but it DOESNT MAKE SENSE.
The manager argued with me about the business losing money if he gave me a replacement pizza without charging me another 21 dollars, but you were happy to give the money i spent on the pizza i returned to you anyway ? This man is either crazy, disingenuous or both because now you lost the 21 dollars and a returning customer so he actually hurt the business even more.
I have never been to a single pizza location or any restaurant who had a problem giving customers a replacement for any food they made. i never been in a situation like this and it left me shaking im not the type to harbor hate in my heart and i don’t hate the manager but i am very hurt and disappointed because the workers make it seem as if im a problem for simply asking a replacement. I’m never going back here again and i do not recommend this place anymore ill find better with better...
Read moreI work two doors down from this place and used to love it there until I walked in last week and the owner was standing on the counter on the prep side where they make the pizzas and had his foot in the flour and the crew was beside him making pizzas as if this was ok.
The manager is a nice young woman and she was disturbed and frustrated when I complained to her. She told me that she was aware that that was wrong and a health hazard but he was the owner and if he did not listen to her there was nothing she could do.
I then approached the owner and told him how wrong he was and what he was doing was a major health violation. His response was that he would get down in a minute. I was stunned and flabbergasted. So was the coworker that was with me.
I have been in food service for 30 years in restaurants, hotels, and small establishments like this one and I have learned when you hire good people and they correct you it doesn't matter if you are the owner, boss or whatever if you cannot listen, do things correctly and are not coachable you do not need to be in food service period. Contamination can kill people and make them seriously ill. And it is just gross and disgusting. To put your manager in that position and not show her the respect even though she was doing what you hired her to do is sad, just plain wrong and disrespectful.
To be the owner and unwilling to do things correctly like taking food safety and sanitation what kind of example are you being to the people that work for you? And if you don't follow the rules and regulations why should your crew?
Needless to say to me this is probably not the 1st time him doing something like this so I will never eat there again. The coworker that was with me said she was never eating there again as well because her father is an Executive Chef and he would roll heads if anyone ever did that in his kitchen. As a matter of fact in the places I work heads would have definitely rolled and the manger would have gotten a raise for trying to...
Read moreOk. I left a review on another site, but my friend Barbara got mad I used her name in the review. So I’ll use this platform to leave my review, and don’t worry my friend Barbara won’t know about this review because she’s very computer illiterate, but don’t get her started on a grammar issue. So here’s the review I left but slightly edited because I didn’t want to use her name (Barbara)
So I used to go to that @pizza place until I saw they beat a customer with a bat. And I was like no way am I going back to that place. So I looked up reviews and talked to my friend on capital Hil (Babs) and she was like "you check out DCP and I'll meet you there". So I googled dc pizza and was like "those pizzas look goood" and met my friend there. But first I checked out the price because if I'm buying I want a good deal, and it's a good deal. So we met up and ate pizza. The whole time I was saying this pizza is so good and the whole time she was eating she was saying "omg there so much pizza I could almost just eat half" I was telling her just enjoy it, it's soooo good. Stop saying the pizzas are so big because we don't want them shrinking the pizza. But I don't think they will because there's a lot of boxes and they have to fill the boxes. And no one listens to my friend Babs’(edited) anyway. But I say this place is awesome!! I'd give it 6 stars if I could. But it will only allow me to give 5 stars so that's what I'll do. My 13 year old daughter came with us and she gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up when I asked her how the pizza was which was the most communication she's given me within a month so I think it's "teenager approved" also. I recomend dc pizza. I would also like to say the staff is really fun. I put down a silly name for my order and they actually called it! So I recommend you...
