The ambiance at Nooshi is modern and energetic, with sleek decor and a bustling crowd that creates a lively atmosphere. The restaurant's vibrant colors and contemporary design add a touch of excitement to the dining experience, making it an ideal spot for both casual gatherings and special occasions.
The menu at Nooshi features a wide array of Asian-inspired dishes, ranging from sushi and sashimi to noodle dishes, stir-fries, and traditional favorites. The extensive selection caters to various tastes and dietary preferences, ensuring there is something for everyone.
During my visit, I had the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes, each showcasing the flavors and techniques of Asian cuisine. The sushi rolls were fresh and beautifully presented, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The noodle dishes, such as pad Thai and udon, were satisfying and packed with authentic Asian flavors. The variety of vegetarian options also impressed me, providing a range of choices for those with dietary restrictions.
The service at Nooshi was friendly and attentive. The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations based on individual preferences. The dishes were served promptly, and the waitstaff made sure that all our needs were met throughout the meal.
One aspect that stood out at Nooshi was their drink menu, which featured a diverse selection of specialty cocktails, sake, and other refreshing beverages. The creative combinations and unique flavors added an extra dimension to the dining experience, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal.
While the food at Nooshi was delicious and the service satisfactory, it's worth noting that the noise level in the restaurant can be quite high during peak hours, which may not be ideal for those seeking a quieter dining experience. Additionally, the portion sizes can be somewhat inconsistent, with some dishes being more generously portioned...
Read moreMy friend and I visited this location on Saturday afternoon during my lunch break. The place was literally empty. Not one customer. I didn't see that as a bad sign because it's usually a ghost town on Saturdays downtown. I go to the bathroom and my friend proceeds to order his food. I come out of the bathroom and he has ordered a glass of wine. The server comes back and I pick up the drink menu to order a drink with my food. She asks for ID and I let her know that I left it at the office. (I CLEARLY look over 30, the age you are required by law to ask for ID) She denied my drink. I told her my full birthdate and she still was unwilling to compromise. I was even in uniform that day (I work at the local Cigar Shop) with plenty of stuff that said "CIGARS" all over it (Hat, shirt). My friend that I was with JUST turned 21 and looks 18, yet me CLEARLY looking like his chaperon was denied. I did not want to continue my meal at this point but my friend wanted to stay. Point is, this place was unwilling to deliver on customer service. I was completely dissatisfied with this place and not only will I not be returning, but neither will my friend. I understand policy, but an empty sushi place on Saturday afternoon is not the place a 20 year old goes to in order to get drunk... It's a place where mostly only people who work downtown know about it. How many people under 21 are working downtown? In a cigar shop? The server didn't care she was just denying me for no reason and She was not even...
Read moreNooshi is known for its legendary happy hour. The drinks are plenty, the bartenders have a good pour, and best of all, it's cheap! It can get pretty busy but the place has a great vibe, service is great, and there's outdoor sidewalk seating for warmer days. Unfortunately, a lot of the outdoor tables are rickety and, annoyingly, do not balance.
As mentioned, drinks are great-- but the food is also pretty decent as well. It always comes out piping hot and the ingredients taste fresh. A favorite of mine is the tom kha soup-- it's amazing with chicken or shrimp. While the food here isn't the most "authentic" or even the best Asian/Thai food you can find in the District, it's more than good enough.
Things I Like: Tom Kha Soup - This soup is delicious-- it's difficult for any Thai restaurant to mess up considering it's a staple of Thai cuisine. Get it with shrimp! Thai Fried Rice - This goes really well with the chicken. Definitely get a side of hot sauce
Things I Dislike: Honey Peanut Chicken - The egg noodles are great, but this dish is far too sweet; the honey is overbearing on the peanut flavor and it's difficult to have more than...
