Mochi Sushi — Restaurant in Waterford Township

Just came in today for the first time. My husband and I love sushi and I love bibimbap so we were excited to hear a local place served both! We ordered a lot of food as we were celebrating mother's day. We got the pork gyoza, vegetable spring rolls, Philadelphia roll, avocado roll, Kayla special, California roll, chicken katsu, shrimp hibachi, and bulgogi bibimbap. When I say they did AMAZING. It was fantastic. We were all sharing the food that came out so we got to try a bit of everything. Can't rave enough about this place. I loved the sushi, Kayla's special was delicious! The bibimbap? Oh my skies, the bulgogi was so tender! I really enjoyed the pork gyoza too, only downside was I had to share! Hahaha

Jokes aside my only complaint, and I mean ONLY was service was a tad slow. Like the food came out quickly but actually having someone stop and get us drinks took a bit, then the same with ordering our food, and again when I needed a refill. Food was very fast to come out though for the record! And the service was friendly when they came up to us! It could've been because we were kind of tucked into the corner out of sight? Not a big deal to us overall :)

The place was cute, friendly and inviting. I liked the music they played and like I said the food was fantastic! 10/10 will be coming back...

Good food, but the menu was not accurate. It had jalapeño in my sushi roll, even though it didn’t include it at all so when I bit into it, it was quite a surprise since I can’t stand spicy. When I ask the waitress about it, she said the menu must be wrong and out of date then when I got the bill and the prices were more on two different things than the actual menu that made me even more frustrated you would think would be accurate with ingredients and price so I asked to speak to a manager who was not there. They haven’t called me back so I called them back and Kayla still not in. the crew there runs without a manager so I do feel sorry for them and was hoping to give them another chance to earn my business , but when they didn’t offer me anything off my incorrectly made sushi or to honor the prices that were in the menu or refused to talk to me about it. I had no choice but to write this review. Lucky it wasn’t an ingredient I was allergic to because you would have no idea by reading their menu ingredients. Everybody makes mistakes but apologize comp them make it right on the price you told them I doubt I will be back with my family and I doubt they will be here long...

Their food is great, but the one time we dined in (thursday) they never brought my food. The other waitress brought the sushi I ordered to the wrong table and we watched the whole thing while splitting my husband's Ramen. It took almost 10 minutes for our server to tell us that the food was brought to the wrong table. I know they were busy with carry out, but between the two servers there was no communication and our server kept apologizing for how long everything took. Just drinks and ordering our food took over 15 minutes. We felt stupid for how long we were there (hour and 15 mins), we tried being patient and kind, but sadly not going back for a while.
