went in to watch the Michigan game and couldn't have been happier with my decision. the staff at rustic leaf are very fun loving, happy individuals and open you with welcoming arms. took a seat at the bar with my wife and met new people and had great company all night.
as for the beers and cider, i tried 4 different beers and the cider and every one of them was bursting with flavor and a notch above my previous favorite ale, stout, and cider. my wife is fairly picky about her ciders and she enjoyed the rustic leaf nice apples cider so much we left with a growler.
the enviroment inside rustic leaf is very laid back and inviting and they even have a nice sectional with a table to sit back and play some board games. the decor is worth the visit alone, and everything is open and very clean.
in all rustic leaf isn't your typical brewery sports bar or hole in the wall. it is like going up north with a bunch of your friends and enjoying some beers in a log cabin. its warm, inviting, fun, nostalgic, and homey. i personally have never enjoyed my time at a bar or brewery as much as I enjoyed the many hours i spent at rustic leaf. i will definitely be going back many more times and encouraging my friends and family to...
Read moreThe SE MI Brewery Discovery Tour's latest stop is: Rustic Leaf in Waterford. I like this place. It sits back off M-59 in a strip mall so you have to look to see the sign. Can't think of how many times I driven past here. 😔 Super friendly staff. Quiet enough that conversations can be held at a normal volume. No half yelling to annoy the wee lads & lassies. Half the parties here have munchkins with them. Music is in the background where it belongs. Very family-friendly. Decor is great. Tables are a mix of high-top & low. There's a 'living room' area, a big couch & a double recliner. And considering it is dinner time, the fact that there is a food truck - okay, it's really a trailer - out front means dinner is served. The Rustic Kitchen is open Wed - Thu from 5:30 - 9 pm, Fri Sat from 5 - 9 pm. Sliders in many variations, poutine, tots, et cetera are available for your noshing needs. Credit only at the 'truck'. The beer is wonderful. Don't forget to see what is on the side tap, it might be a tasty English IPA made with Earl Grey tea, a TeaPA. Not a...
Read moreBeen trying out different venues for pub trivia and Rustic has it on Thursday nights, so we decided to give it a try. Fun atmosphere for trivia, a lot of teams and seems like they're all regulars too. The beer was decent, didn't knock my socks off, but not bad either. They do not have food however there was a food truck that night (I believe the same owners). Food truck wasn't great but the poutine was pretty good. Overall, just kind of an average place. Although they were mostly friendly, they don't seem to handle the evening trivia rush very well, for example the guy running the food truck was clearly flustered with all the orders he was getting. It felt slightly clique-y too, like we weren't in the club. We might come to trivia every now and then but I probably wouldn't make a special...
