Zap Zone — Attraction in Waterford Township

Very poor experience. Signs at the front desk tell you the escape rooms is upstairs. Went upstairs and was sent back down to the front desk to "check-in" - which was basically saying "hi" then sent back upstairs.

In the escape room, very little instruction. The "backstory" provided was poorly written and very low quality as compared to other escape rooms we have been to. The young lady that was giving us instructions was trying her hardest but was working alone and was managing several other escape rooms at the same time, carrying multiple walkies at once.

The real kicker - some of the electronics weren't working in the room. The young lady didn't know what to do, and ultimately told us it was just the TV's that would display the timer. She asked if that bothered us and that she could just walkie in a countdown every 10 minutes or so. We said that was fine. Come to find out, however, that the electronics that weren't working also affected one of the major clues that we tried to solve about half way through our time but nothing happened so we kept searching. We really did solve the clue, but it was supposed to appear somewhere (maybe the TV's?) and didn't because the electronics weren't working. This resulted in us not being able to solve the room because we spend 15-20 minutes stuck trying to solve something we have already solved - but the room didn't work right.

This sheds light on the fact that the young lady was overwhelmed with multiple rooms and certainly not tracking our progress like other escape rooms we have been to where they would chime in if there was an issue, etc. Nope - we were abandoned. AND when we ran out of time, and the young lady came in and figured out that the room wasn't working - there was no offer to extend our time - or even to purchase more time (as is customary with other escape rooms we have been to). Simply a "Sorry our room didn't work right - you didn't escape".

We walked out utterly disappointed with the experience, especially having our 8 year old experiencing his first escape room. It wouldn't have bothered us that we didn't beat the room - it bothered us that we paid a lot of money for a room that didn't work and there was no thought of offering some sort of resolution, time extension, partial refund, etc.

Just overall not a great experience. Would not recommend and will...

These guys were amazing we did putt putt, bumper cars, laser tag 2x then we did the arcade. It was very clean and well kept I only saw 1 game down maybe

The laser tag was so much fun it's 3 stories tall

But what made it amazing is were celebrating my daughter's 15th birthday

When we told them what we were doing the manager and other attendants were so nice they gave my daughter's 12$ in have credits for her birthday after we went and played and did the golf and all

We played some games and won some tickets. We decided to give them to my daughter of course we had 1600 tickets and the manager was so nice she gave her an extra 400 tickets to make it an even 2000 my daughter was so happy then the other employee went and got my daughter a green golf ball to keep cause it was her birthday and also her first time even playing putt putt golf. We all had so much fun. I use a walker to get around and did not have any trouble at all getting around they even have an elevator for those that want to go upstairs for golf or escape rooms

My girlfriend's mom also uses a walker and oxygen and never once had an terrible

They also told us if we wanted to bring a birthday cake and use the area we could

It was so much fun we all needed that so much my daughter was smiling the whole way home and even feel asleep on the back on the ride cause she was wore out from the excitement. We are going to come back again and again for sure

We did the Unlimited pass for 32 each and then bought some credits afterwards. In that 2 hours we did the golf, the bumper cars and the laser tag we did 2 times

The staff was great so helpful and so generous very family friendly clean upkept. Almost everything was in amazing condition. Not complaining at all only 1 game was down. they all worked perfectly

Me and my family definitely agree this is a place we will come back to all the time and well refer everyone to go and try it out

That also have escape rooms we weren't planning on the price so they are our next trip for sure

Loved it all around so much fun my daughter is still taking about it now

We went to Zap Zone in Waterford for the first time on January 1, 2023 for a new experience with our kids. Our boys had the most fantastic time and loved the entire experience! They played arcade games, rode the bumper cars, and played in the ninja zone. They had hours of pure smiles and joy - and nothing makes us happier as parents to see your kids having fun and enjoying being a kid!

I truly Dont know where to begin on the extraordinary staff there at Zap Zone. Uhhh… MARY!!! She was incredibly fantastic with my kids and had the best smile and biggest heart while taking care of us our entire time at zap zone. My little boys love Mary and how kind she was - and that is something they won’t forget. She is a bright light in that place and they are so lucky to have her !

Now… fast forward to getting ready to leave after hours of fun .. Devon!!!! Seriously the sweetest and kindest soul. He made our trip for our boys extra special. We were ending our fun day with robot slushies…. And Devon came back with special prizes for our boys and our family that truly made us feel like we won the lottery! As parents… it was so sweet to see how they went out of their way to make our first visit fun, inviting, memorable, and definitely wanting us to come back! Devon - we appreciate what you did for us! ;)

Now…to last night January 7, 2023! We made our second visit back to zap zone and brought our niece with us. What an incredible evening for all of us. I mean it… all of the staff were so amazing and took such great care of us. What an incredible team they have there. My boys left the place high giving and hugging Zap Zone staff and the entire car ride home was planning when we would be going back already.

So thank you to all of the staff that have helped us during our visits that we may not of caught everyone names… and a special thank you to Mary and Devon. From our little sonic the hedgehog loving claw machine obsessed kids - we THANK YOU for going above and beyond for contributing to the best childhood memories they will...
