12/7/23 Update: Every one of my Cracker Barrel visits has been any day other than Thursday. For decades I have wanted to try the turkey and dressing.
When we arrived, we were seated at a table next to the floor heater on the wall. When Donna approached us and noticed our table, and we, were about six inches away from the wall, she immediately recognized the reason and went to turn off the heat vent.
Donna was pleasant and brought us everything we needed for our tastes. The turkey, cornbread dressing, and gravy were good to this southern lady, but the sweet potatoes need more spice. The tiny dab of cranberry sauce was good. And, my greens, pepper vinegar, and corn muffins were as good as always.
We wish Donna and all the rest of the Cracker Barrel family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I adore CB, and I am glad we have one here. I wanted pancakes when I was driving, but when I arrived and my friend chose chicken and dumplings, my usual choice, I did, too. The waitress checked on us a couple of times, but it takes me a while to order. After she walked away, I remarked to my friend, "She didn't ask if we wanted corn muffins or biscuits." My friend noted, "Yeah, they're not too friendly around here." She remembers other times we had waitresses who weren't very friendly.
The waitress brought biscuits and corn muffins out with our meal. BTW, these corn muffins were near perfect and the best I have ever received here. They were golden, not burnt; they weren't dry; and, they were soft/tender. The woman remembered to bring me pepper vinegar for my turnip greens and let me know there was juice as I had asked. She didn't let our glasses go empty, and she noticed we weren't eating much and might need boxes.
The bathroom was clean and well stocked. As usual, the gift shop never ceases to delight me. I saw a new candy offering today and bought butter rum soft candy sticks.
The nativity sets are beautiful, the winter and cardinal items are stunning, and I LOL at Peanuts. I have liked them since I was a very little girl, and I may go back and buy the "Howdy Partner" t-shirt of Snoopy with a lasso or the lightweight sweatshirt for fall with Snoopy on it. And the pink velveteen duster? Oh, my!
I only wish you could incorporate some clothes in larger sizes, because until recently I was a 3X and couldn't find anything to buy. My friend needs a 3X; I was surprised to see my first 2Xs. I also wish you had a few petite lengths thrown in as I, my mom, and a few of my friends are...
Read moreOrdered a holiday ham feast meal with sides. I chose to pick up inside the store rather than curb side delivery.
I stand in line where it says order pick up (and parked in the to go area, per signs) cashier calls into back to let them know I'm here for my order.
Some bippity Millennial came out and said I need to pick up in the back of the building. I informed her that all signs were in front of the building for pick up. I clicked to come in to pick up instead of curbside to help them.
She continued to get flustered and make a scene in the front area. She finally went to get a box, and I said, "Perfect, I'm parked in spot one. You can bring it out." She became a child, turned around making yet another scene with the box saying if I want it, I need to drive around back. I refused, and so she took my box into the kitchen.
I asked for a manager, which she was much more pleasant and said, "Definitely they can place my order in my vehicle."
Little while later, 2 new employees that I have had no experience with came out and placed my box that said 1 of 2 in the truck along with some bags with juice and sides that I ordered on a separate day. I asked twice, 2x Was this everything! Was told yes and that it was double-checked.
I finally got home to Canton, and I received a phone call. I still had a box at Cracker Barrel!!! When would I like to pick it up? I said I'm not picking it up because I don't live in sioux falls and will not be back in the area. They offered a refund, but that leaves me still with my missing box that I need to serve people. Few hours later I get another phone call that my box with the ham and desserts will be delivered on Saturday morning. I'm thankful that in the end things will work out, BUT holy stress that was not needed all because some girl can't do her job!!! Never again would I try the holiday meal service and definitely would...
Read moreTalk about a horrible experience at supper tonight. We went to dinner tonight with my parents. We went to Cracker Barrel. The waiter was attentive right when we got there. Quickly came and got our drink order and brought them out. After that it was downhill. We ordered our food. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive at the table. When it did arrive, my dad’s meal was wrong and my entire meal was wrong. The guy gave me hashbrowns as I ordered fried apples and my over easy eggs were solid, everything was cold, the gravy was a solid grey clump. I asked for new eggs as I could literally hold them in the air and the waiter got all snotty with me. I told him the meal was wrong and I would like a new meal made that I ordered. He took the meal back at 6:36pm and brought the exact same meal back at 6:47pm just with new eggs. So my already cold meal sat in the back for another 10 minutes and was brought back to me… still incorrrect mind you. The waiter had an attitude so we asked for the manager on duty and she blamed me for not ordering correctly and said that our story was not what the waiter said. We told her to just take my meal off the bill and that we were done. She then proceeded to go to the back and start laughing with the waiter that we were having issues left. She did not take any of it serious at all. My husband and I just started to go back to Cracker Barrel after not eating there for over 5 years but sadly we are now taking this location off of our places to eat. Restaurants are too expensive to go to just to be given cold and wrong food and to have a horrible experience...
