I think last night will be the final time we eat at Ruby's. We were seated at a sticky table. The service was late greeting us and bringing our drink order. We were given a stack of menus - one for dinner, one for drinks, one for more drinks and desserts, one for the special... Just flopped on the middle of the table before we could sit. They no longer offer their biscuit starters, though really - there were only four, cold, tiny ones to ever start with. It still would have taken the edge off waiting 20 minutes for our appetizer - which came 2 minutes before our meal arrived, and was cold.
Their add on drinks on the children's menu is absolutely reprehensible. Two dollars for a 4 ounce cup? She refused to give her a refill, and she never returned with water for her. My husband and I both ordered simple margaritas - with no option for on the rocks or blended. Ick. Hands down the worst I've ever had. There was nothing but rotten-tasting limeade and ice in my cup. No tequila, no triple sec, no Cointreau. Nothing. I sent it back, and the next one they brought (at the very end of my meal) was almost all tequila. I took a single drink and felt sick to my stomach the rest of the night.
My meal wasn't great either, by any means. I'll give this a single star because my husband's burger was on point. My chicken, however, was grilled to a salty puck - and there was a sea of oil flooding the plate. The mashed potatoes were more like a puddle of glue - bland, no lumps, and separated in a pool. Their portions were tiny on a huge plate that was served scalding hot - to point out that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while before being brought out.
To top it off, one of the employee's friends came in and sat behind my children - and proceeded to curse loudly and act obnoxious with said employee. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told "that's probably not happening". Spending $45 on a disappointing meal for four (on a night with 2 free kids meals too, mind you), and not getting what we hoped for? We won't be returning as I feel the place as fallen completely by...
Read moreIt was Friday August 15th around 6:30pm My family of 6 was seated. Our waitress came in. With the slight odor of Marijuana (i don't care if you smoke weed but come on it's dinner rush). We came here because children are supposed to be free on Fridays with purchase of a full price entree. My burger was still pink but I ate it as pink beef never hurt me before. That was a mistake. Portions were ridiculous for $16. I had to ask for every drink refill needed. Then the waitress didn't even bring my children refills she brought us 2 large glasses lf.water and said we could refill the kids drinks.... okay. My children all ate the salad bar except for one. Who ate Mac and cheese. My wife's shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. And my bill was just under $60
Then we got our check and the children's meals were not free for Friday so I asked
She then said oh I never heard of it but I'm new so.
The waitress brought back a new receipt and said she was able to take one of the children's meals off not both.
I asked and she said "well I have to go get the manager" she then yelled across the restaurant to the manager can you help these people. And proceeded to trash talk us to the customers seated right behind me.
I never do not.tip but this waitress was a literal first.
Another waitress said I quit this job is to stressful and then laughed.
Then another younger waitress took care of our bill I apologized and she responded no do not apologize. That was the first decency I had for service there other than being greeted in.
I will never return here again. Or any other franchise of ruby Tuesday because of this service I had. Please train the waitress better or tell her to find a more...
Read moreMeh. I remember Ruby Tuesday from twenty years ago being amazing. Back then I can recall I was craving Ruby Tuesday's amazing hamburger and fries before I even realized I was pregnant. Within a year we had moved to an area where there were no Ruby Tuesdays so I was eager to visit one again. I must say it was a disappointment. I ordered the talapia with a salad and green beans for the side. The salad and fish were okay but the green beans were all wrong. There is no doubt in my mind that the kitchen knew the beans were not good when they plated them. Instead of a vibrant green they were a dull olive tone and so soggy that when I attempted to spear one with my fork it simply compressed and the fork's tine would not pierce the skin of the bean. When I drew the server's attention to the fact the beans were not good he looked at them, grimaced, and agreed. I did receive some lovely grilled squash instead but unfortunately I had to choose between eating my fish solo while it was warm or waiting for the squash and eating the fish cold. Ultimately I had a salad, followed by fish, then finished with squash. Not ideal. Additionally, the service was pretty atrocious. The staff was definitely having a good time in the kitchen based on the chatter and laughter detected. The customers however seemed to be less amused by the good times to be had in the kitchen. We had several opportunities to eat out after this experience at other Ruby Tuesdays as we traveled on but we chose to bypass each one as a result of...
