Well, I have never ever had Indian food in my life until the other day. On a previous business trip one of our customers is Indian and as things go we started talking about restaurants in that area to try and Indian was one of the choices. I shared that I never tried it so I wouldn’t know what to try and was open for recommendations. I didn’t try it on that trip but now with a few recommendations I was ready for the next time I found a good place. So on this last trip there was Shahi Palace a very short distance from my hotel. I did a takeout order of Butter Chicken, spicy. It cleared my sinuses but didn’t torture my tastebuds and the rest of my mouth. Sadly there are no photos as it was a takeout order so pics wouldn’t look as nice as in the restaurant. I really liked the Butter Chicken and Naan. Nice meal. Well, the weather took a turn for the worse and my flight was delayed again and again. So my hotel stay was extended. I had to venture out and send some packages back at a UPS store and then after a while on the phone with the airlines I decided to eat in and went down to the restaurant. This time I ordered the meal for one which was more than plenty. Appetizer, entree’ & naan and dessert and tea. Very nice meal at a very nice price. I did snap some photos this time. Tikka Masala was fantastic as well but my favorite so far was the Butter Chicken. Very friendly and attentive staff, several people checked on me regularly....
Read moreFood is great. We eat here all the time. However the service is unattentive, slow, and maybe understaffed? I've been to eat here twice this month, the first time it was just after 5pm when they open for dinner service. Besides myself (I ate alone) there was just one other couple, and the service was aweful. My water was filled, my order taken, my food delivered, and that was all the service I recieved. I didn't get to place a drink order at all, nor was I offered a water refill. The two times I had a server at my table I tried to ask for a drink, but he was gone in a flash before I could open my mouth. When I was ready to pay, get some take away boxes, and leave I had to go find a server to get my check. The waitress? Or hostess, or whatever she is was texting on her phone, and the rest of the staff were standing by the wine bar /drink area talking. At this point I was the only patron in the restaurant, so I know they had ample time to be more attentive. The food is so good here, I just wish the service was better. The second time I went to eat here there was a full house of guests, and two people taking orders. The staff was visibly flustered. I've also noticed they try to take all the orders by memory. With that many guests I'd get flustered too. Also the waitress /hostess was texting on her phone again instead of helping with service. Great food though. We always spend way too much at...
Read moreCOI notice--I know the owners and all staff outside of the restaurant.
I have been going to the restaurant since they opened. The service is excellent, personal and fast.
The food is excellent and there is something for everyone. I have to eat gluten free, so when they switched menus I suggested they mark this in their menu. There is a vegetarian section, GF is marked, Dairy Free is marked.
The staff makes the food. No canned sauces. The cheese (paneer) and yogurt (for raita) are made in the restaurant's kitchen. You can purchase small tubs of chutney to take home with you. Food is spiced to your liking--mild, medium, hot. Some dishes are naturally more mild or more hot based on basic ingredients of that particular dish. They have a real tandoor oven in the kitchen for traditional favorites!
They have chai, soda, beer, wine, coffee, lassis, and water to drink.
Buffet is at lunch time only. If you need to eat Dairy Free, don't go for buffet on Friday. Buffet food is mildly spiced. Buffet changes daily. Please don't waste food. All dishes are made fresh (expensive). You can order from the menu for lunch and dinner.
Noon meal is 11-2:30. Supper is 5- 9:30. Please leave at closing time for each meal. One crew works the whole day (opening prep to closing clean up) every day. 3-4:30 is their break in a 13-14 hour day. This is a key to their...
