Update: 12/20/2023, our 20th Anniversary
We had Sydney as our waitress. She was amazing, sweet, and hard-working. My husband and I listened to her instructions how to join the rewards program to get our bloomin' onion free. I enjoyed my asparagus and French onion soup, but my shrimp on my Queensland chicken and shrimp looked undercooked; they weren't even opaque. Over the next few minutes, they seemed to cook more but still never made it to a look I felt comfortable eating. Sydney offered to get something else for me. My husband enjoyed his steak and baked potato very much. We then enjoyed our chocolate peanut butter mousse dessert.
Update: 3/28/2023:
Tonight was my husband's birthday. I told the young lady who seated us, and she couldn't wait to tell our waiter. We brought a friend with us who has several food allergies but was excited to eat here the first time. Also, like my husband and me, she has to have no/low sodium, and, she doesn't like spicy items. Our waiter took it all in stride. He asked the kitchen staff what oil was used to cook the blooming onion, and he came back and told us that mushrooms were often fried in the same oil. He told her they could go light on the seasoning for the chicken breast, and told her the BBQ sauce would be on the side just in case she did find it a little spicy. We all ordered baked potatoes without the salt on the outside. We all enjoyed the meal very much. At the end, he brought a dessert and three spoons and asked whose birthday it was, so we said it was my husband's. The waiter did ask our friend how she liked the BBQ sauce and asked if she found it spicy; she declared it was very good and not spicy to her. We do have a suggestion and that would be not to put the dressing directly on the salad so it would still be good the next day, too.
Ordinarily, my husband and I view talking to our wait staff as part of the dining experience. While our waiter was busy the entire meal, we did get to speak to the hostess a few times as she went back and forth. Our friend has already declared she wants to return to Outback.
Update: Several months ago, we came with another couple. Our waiter was absolutely rude. I am diabetic, am on a no/low sodium diet, and have stomach problems. I asked if fried entrees could be made without salt - no. I asked something about a entree containing sugar, and he snapped all he knew about diabetes was we had trouble with sugar. He wasn't pleasant at all, and he had to be asked for refills, more napkins, clean utensils, etc. Our friend's wife remarked, busy or not, he shouldn't be treating us the way we were being treated. Only near the end of our meal did he become more attentive and less snippy. Since she paid for our meal, I didn't see the ticket to get his name.
*, Sometimes it is difficult to get in without a lengthy wait, so we don't come often. We usually come for the occasional birthday and anniversary. The area around the tables is tight for people passing through and around them, even without the sides lifted. The atmosphere was much nicer than last time we visited when we were seated near three drunk and drinking businessmen with prolific cursing. Since we didn't complain, we don't know if or how it might have been handled. I enjoy steaks and the other selections, and I am glad there is a pork porterhouse on the menu. I personally would prefer it if a couple more of the meals came with pasta or rice instead of fries or the yummy mashed potatoes. We have never had a problem with our wait staff. They have all been polite and...
Read moreFormer manager here AND was still customer for Sioux Falls, SD until yesterday! Yesterday, your current bartender Chelsey Lynn Zafft decided to publicly comment on my social media calling me the cruelest manager in Outback Steakhouse. Completely randomly! Unprovoked and on a unrelated topic! It was extremely cruel of her and shows the toxicity of that location still existing when I quit there over 7 months ago due to the toxic environment and undisciplined staff. I formally request you review all Hot schedules Manager notes for the past 2 years in that location to fully understand the gravity of the situation. Being publicly mocked and shamed on my Facebook, it was up for over 5 hours, was discpicable and cruel in and of itself. I cried for hours, I couldn't finish work that night at my job because it was so hurtful and unnecessary. Not to mention I will still be visiting thia location for doordash pickups and never had any issues doing so until this bartender decided to put your name out their on my page as if she owns the restaurant. Get your staff under control, I couldn't and its why I walked out. Yet the toxicity is still attempting to follow me after walking out. Chelsey must be dealing with her own inner demons if she feels the need to do what she did, especially considering the fact she has never spoken to me that way, never said anything like that to me before and in fact was always someone who encouraged me and had my back most of the time. She was hours late constantly on a regular basis and was "unfireable" because of the former GM Robbie having some sort of inappropriate relationship with her. Outback Steakhouse - DISCIPLINE YOUR EMPLOYEES. NO ONE LIKES TO BE STALKED WITH A CORPORATE NAME ATTACHED TO THE HARASSING PARTY. Since quitting I have ordered from this restaurant still 3-4 times, now I will never support any lf your restaurants. PS my last NY...
Read moreHad a horrible experience on Saturday night. We were regular customers, but after this, we won't be back. We used the app to get in line, and we were seated before the time we were quoted. We were pleased about that, but that was the only good part. To start off, there was a huge snow pile in the last handicap parking spot. We have an SUV, so my fiancé parked there and helped me out of the vehicle since I'm disabled. Then, our server seemed to be waiting on every other table except ours, but the restaurant was busy so we didn't complain. Both of us ordered burgers. He ordered his medium well, I ordered well done. Got the burgers and his was medium rare, but he didn't mind a little pink in his so he just ate it. Mine, however, was pink on the first bite. My stomach can't tolerate meat that's not well done, so I showed my server. He said he would get a fresh one made and put a rush on it. Then the manager, who I didn't catch his name but he was tall with facial hair and bright red hair, said he would take care of it. 10 minutes later, the manager came out with my burger cut in half already and said he made sure it was done. It was not. It looked like he didn't flip the burger because one side of the middle was still pink. I pointed it out, then he snatched the plate and walked away angrily. He said we didn't have to pay anything, which we weren't expecting, but it seemed like he just wanted us gone. He should not be a manager if he is going to lose his temper when the customer's food isn't cooked to specifications, and he should not be the one cooking a customer's food if he doesn't understand what well done mean
Edited to say that I wrote to them at the link provided, just like they asked. A week later and no response. Apparently...
