PizzaRev was my favorite pizza joint in town when it was open. When I heard these guys were going to resurrect it as "Invictus", I was super excited! Three of us stopped by to try it our a couple nights ago. Line wasn't crazy, back to the entry way. Took about 10-15 minutes to shuffle to the order station. I opted for the "pizza of the month" which was written on the wallboard to the right as we filed in. They almost need a taller person to write the pizza of the month on that board, as the workers behind the counter couldn't make out the ingredients of this pizza because half of it was blocked by the people standing in line. No biggie, I simply requested all the items that made up that pizza. My daughter ordered the Buffalo Chicken pizza off the "Classics" menu and my wife ordered her own custom creation. Not sure how you could improve it, but their delivery method of sending the workers out and calling out names to figure out who gets which pizza didn't seem like the ideal process - my daughter's pizza got lost in the shuffle somewhere. 10 minutes after me and my wife got our pizzas, we had to go up and ask where my daughter's pizza was. They quickly made up another one for her. Two of our pizza's were supposed to have a drizzle on them and didn't. I'll write this off as simply "startup pains", and hopefully their process will improve.

CONS: The delivery process, where it seemed like the pizzas were coming out of the oven and being delivered in random sequence.

PROS: Many more options for sauces and cheeses than before (PizzaRev). The pizza crust and ingredients tasted just as good as when it was the Rev. All the workers were friendly, even though they...

My friend & I were thrilled to see a new "create your own" pizza place open in the old Pizza Rev location! And they even offer several specialty pizza options in addition to the create your own as well as salads & calzones. Just as before, you start at the counter with your name, type of crust & sauce. Then you get to the good stuff - toppings! You can add any of their toppings in any amount when creating your own. Not bad for a starting price of $11. The only additional charge is for the different crusts. After your masterpiece has spent sufficient time in the pizza oven they bring it to your table. They do offer some beer & wine options along with Coke products. I ordered traditional crust, marinara sauce, mozzarella and ricotta cheese with pepperoni, extra pepperoni. My friend had traditional crust, marinara sauce, mozzarella & sharp cheddar cheese, pepperoni, bacon bits, Canadian bacon and onions. My pizza looks strange in my pics because I tried to spread the ricotta around after the fact! Regardless of looks though, it was super cheesy, just the right amount of chew to the crust. My friend said it tasted fresh, that you knew you weren't eating some run of the mill pizza chain! We loved the atmosphere with comfortable seating including tables, booth/table combos & bar tables. The general manager paid us a visit when it had calmed down. She was super nice & friendly. She told us their dough is made fresh every day in house. In chatting she mentioning they'd been open three weeks & had seen their line out the door at times! She ended by thanking us for coming out & hoping we returned. With that level of service, food quality & atmosphere, we assured her we...

We moved to SF 3 years ago from a VERY large city with places like Fired Pie, Blaze Pizza, etc. (make your own). So, I was super excited to see this place come here. I’ve been dying to try it. My daughter has celiacs, I have both wheat and dairy allergies, so… pizza is hard to find sometimes.

Hubby and I got 2 BYO pizzas. His was thin crust, with lots of toppings. Mine is GF crust with dairy free cheese and lots of toppings. First things first, 99% of dairy free cheese doesn’t melt well. You have to really try to get it melted. That’s not their fault. But, this cheese does have a slight bitter taste. Not too bad if you topping load like I did. The GF crust is crunchy and good. Not doughy at all. Everything tasted great. Really enjoyed it.

The ONLY thing that earned it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the drinks are given in a small cup for the price and they told us “we just ask you don’t share”. I’ve eaten at hundreds of places. Hubby and I always share, because we rarely refill our cup anyway. We just have the 1 drink, we share, and we’re done. We do this with alcohol as well. So, this was a weird rule that I def would recommend the...
