week later update as per requested by the shop owner in a reply, I did call in, was told the owner wasn’t there, said they would relay the message with my number etc for them to return the call…. Never got the call back, thank you.
Sorry folks, no can do. I tried to reach out to them via email for assistance or correction to no avail prior to this review.
Very disappointing. Usually I'll get colorful with details but, with such little effort put forth by this shop, I'm compelled to match the lack of care. A- they don't bake anything there- which is to say they buy their product frozen. Thats right, a bagel place that doesn't bake their own bagels and has frozen product shipped in. Zero fresh baked anything here. B- the bagels themselves are not bagels at all- they're variations of white bread buns with a hole. The least bagel-like bagel I've had. Lender's at the grocery store is better, and that's not good. C- the spreads are so incredibly overpriced, I just feel duped and suckered. They couldn't even be bothered to completely fill the 4oz containers we bought... at $6 each ($18 for 3 small salad dressing containers not filled). One of the flavors was literally Lipton soup mix tossed in with a block of Philadelphia. Not acceptable.
$27 for 6 bagels and 3 half filled 4-oz spreads. I feel lucky that I wasn't stupid enough to get the 6-oz $9-each containers, and only paid $18 for 12-oz (that's $24/pound cream cheese).
We're local Haywood people, and saddened with this Waynesville business. Who can afford this and why?
If the product just had a whimper of effort we'd be less disappointed- but alas, it's just a very lazy excuse to pinch the tourist economy a little bit more. Who cares about the local year round population that keep Main Street up and running in the off-seasons? Very frustrating to pay exorbitant prices for such low quality product and effort.
Specific to this google review regarding the service and atmosphere- Place smelled heavily like cleaning products when you first walk in, there was no one there and it took 20 minutes for a pretty simple...
Read moreWe stopped into Time Square Bagels in Waynesville completely by chance… and let me tell you, the universe knew what it was doing. This place is an absolute gem.
I ordered the chicken, jalapeño cream cheese, and bacon bagel, and all I can say is... mouthgasm. That flavor combo lit up every corner of my taste buds. It was hot, fresh, and ridiculously satisfying. I already want another one.
The vibe inside? Cozy, local, and welcoming. The kind of place that makes a small town feel like home. And Annabelle, who was working the counter, was an absolute sweetheart—super personable, friendly, and funny. Turns out, she’s actually from my hometown, which made it all even better. You can tell she genuinely enjoys being there, and that kind of energy makes all the difference.
We didn’t have to wait, the food came out quick and delicious, and even the dirty chai was on point. Every single part of the experience was top-notch—from the first bite to the last sip.
We love this little town, and Time Square Bagels just gave us another reason to come back. Highly recommend. We’ll...
Read moreI was originally excited when I saw a bagel shop was opening in town but the first time I went there I was not impressed. Very expensive and the bagels were super stale and the coffee is cold. The only reason I came back is because my 4 year old loves bagels, and I was told they had a downstairs area that was accommodating for kids. If it were not for that and the fact that they are the only bagel shop in town I would not have come. The bagels are not at all fresh and the portions and tiny. Most bagel shops offer bagels made fresh that day. The staff also lied to me and said they were baked fresh there that day. I guess popping in the microwave to heat up is what they consider fresh. The staff was quite rude to me and doesn't seem to want kids there. Service is extremely slow. Took over a half hour to get a microwaved plain bagel with butter when there were no other customers Not family friendly and I will...
