Last night I had the second worst experience with you franchise in a long time. The worst was just a few weeks ago. When I came in, I sat at the bar. the bartender walked by me at least a handful of times to go talk to a girl at the end of the bar. Turned out she's a waitress who worked there. The she came in on her night off to celebrate her birthday. No big deal but at least acknowledge my existence and ask if I’d like a beverage. When he did finally come over, I asked for a Mich Ultra, and he just looked at me puzzled and said, I would have to go get them out the freezer because were out. AND??!!! But ok, I get the beer, drink the beer and wait on him for another 10 minutes before he stops fraternizing and comes back over to ask if I want another. No thanks, I replied. So you only came in for one? I just looked at him.. But maybe it’s just an off night…so last night the plan was, If the dude was there I was just going to sit at a booth. I came in to watch the Carolina game. That game is on but there’s two other game on, the Louisville game, and the coastal Carolina game. The Louisville game is only on the television behind me. When the waitress finds her way over to me, easily 10 minutes after I sat down. She ask if she can take my drink order. OK, give her my drink AND food order. Why wait another 10 minutes for her to come back over? Wonton Taco, 10 boneless wings blue cheese and long island Ice tea. Can we get the television channel changed also. She goes over and puts the wrong game on!! I mean its obvious because now all the TV’s are on the same two games. But maybe she can’t work a remote. Why she didn’t ask if this was the game I wanted, I don’t know?? Another waitress comes out with the food. No silverware, no napkins, no blue cheese. The waitress who must have been overwhelmed by the 9 people in the entire bar area, only comes back another 5 maybe 10 minutes later as I’m just staring at her fuming. “Is everything ok Sir?” Can I get some silverware, blue cheese, napkins and are you going to ever put the game on?? “Oh I’m sorry everyone is watching this game.” I am literally the only one watching games in there and she has the same game on 90% of the TV’s. But she finally corrected it. Good for her. My bliss last for a few minutes, Until some dude walked in and asked for a basketball game and she turns the TV station that she just fixed to basketball. This is from the main game everyone is supposedly watching. I’m dumbfounded by this. She can’t be this incompetent. So I asked her, why would you change that channel?? “Oh, you were watching that?” At this point I asked for my check. I left half my food uneaten and a full Long island. I can’t come back to your West Chester location. I don’t have the patience for the level of incompetence they have there. -- And please tell your waitress to check on their customers before they pull out their tip jar and count their tips. And I'm normally annoyed by a manager coming over multiple times asking if everything is ok. But I would have appreciated one coming over, since there was clearly one or two making the schedule at the height top. I thought long and hard but I gave her 15% but I won’t step in that...
Read moreWent there for a special occasion their air-conditioning was out they had little fans all over the place but they were like little cheap ones that practically did nothing but blow around any hair or debris that’s in the booths or floor or whatever and then went to order the Alfredo And they told me they were completely out of all noodles in the whole restaurant this was just an experience from hell, but we had already driven there because it was the closest Applebee’s to us so we settled and ordered different items than what we would’ve preferred The manager when I spoke to him just made excuses and offered no compensation no apologies for the situation and his restaurant that he’s managing that he orders inventory for and he is the one responsible for keeping up on maintenance!!!! I was so disappointed in this visit and then just to see if this was a fluke I went there again weeks later and the tables were not clean we were sat at one and the people two booths behind us were so loud and irritating like even the server said would you like to move to a new table and we said yes please and mind you the table we were at you could tell it had not been thoroughly wiped or sanitized or anything they literally just picked the dishes up off of it probably ran a old napkin from the table that was laying on the table over it Same with the new table we were moved to the person that runs this restaurant definitely should not be in charge of anything let alone an establishment they can very easily make people sick!! However, then to know that they took Alfredo off the two for menu was disappointing in its own like I love Applebee’s I love your honey barbecue boneless wings appetizers mozzarella cheese sticks, the filet mignon, fries And other items but I’m not gonna list them all!! I just wish you guys would get it together and have better staff that actually run the restaurant and order what you’re supposed to have and make sure servers or bus boys or whoever are cleaning their tables sweeping up under the tables and making it a clean environment for new customers It’s not that difficult, but like I said and the one incident I was offered no discount no apology no anything for their air conditioning being out for them being completely out of any type of pasta noodles in the restaurant and then on top of that the overall attitude of Who he introduced himself as the GM Was just awful!!!! I will admit I am using talk to text because I am a very busy working mom and I didn’t take time to proofread this message I’m just hoping it came...
Read moreDisappointing Lunch Experience - Avoid!
My recent lunch visit to Applebee's was thoroughly underwhelming and frankly, quite disturbing. Despite the restaurant being only a quarter full, the entire experience was marred by poor service, questionable hygiene, and highly unprofessional staff behavior.
Upon entering, the strong smell of "dirty cleaning" was immediately off-putting. We were seated quickly, but then waited a full 10 minutes before anyone took our drink or food order. The menus were sticky, covered in what looked like red crystal candy, making the pages difficult and unpleasant to handle.
The food, when it finally arrived, was a significant letdown. Our food was severely overcooked, dry, and unappetizing. Again, this service was slow, taking them 20 minutes for two small portioned meals, during a very slow dining room service.
What truly made this visit unacceptable was the staff. Our waitresses were dressed in yoga clothing with no aprons, no name tags, not distinct Applebee's attire or clothing, making it difficult to distinguish them from customers. The host was out of sight and on their phone, blending in with incoming patrons. Service was consistently slow, with requests largely ignored.
More alarmingly, the staff's open conversations were unprofessional and highly inappropriate. We overheard discussions about past overdoses and clear drug history. Adding to the discomfort, the bartender loudly announced "brace yourself, she's coming in" to the customers and staff, as another female patron arrived from the parking lot.
During payment, our waitress appeared to be writing information from our payment method and placing it in her back pocket, which felt extremely suspicious and left us feeling uneasy. Will have to monitor the cards to ensure no illegal charges, kept receipt to ensure the waitress name. There was no notes on any receipts, so it wasn't like she was taking her time to write "thanks for visiting" or anything. Unusual behavior, I only watched her do this because the amount of time it was taking her to do the task was unacceptable. Uncomfortable to walk off with someone's payment for more than 5 minutes, wish they had a pay at table option.
Overall, this was an unprofessional, disgusting, and utterly poor dining experience. I will absolutely not be returning. Don't fall for fake reviews from staff, friends, and...
