Cecina Grill in Pilsen is an absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality tacos with bold, unforgettable flavors. I stopped by on a lively evening, and the atmosphere was electric and the people gave the place a vibrant, welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. I ordered four tacos al pastor, and I can honestly say it was one of the best taco decisions I’ve ever made. These tacos were next-level they weren’t just packed, they were overflowing with flavor and filled to the brim with juicy, tender al pastor. The meat had that perfect balance of smokiness and spice, marinated just right to give every bite a burst of incredible taste. The outside had a slight crisp to it, while the inside remained juicy and tender, practically melting in your mouth. But what really set these tacos apart was how all the elements came together. The fresh, soft tortillas perfectly cradled the hearty al pastor, soaking up the juices without falling apart. Then there was the salsa wow! It brought the perfect amount of heat and tang to the dish, elevating every bite to another level. The salsa had this vibrant, fresh flavor that cut through the richness of the meat and tied everything together beautifully. A sprinkle of cilantro and onions added a fresh crunch, balancing the deep, smoky flavors of the pork. Each taco was like a symphony of flavors spicy, savory, fresh, and satisfying. I’ve had plenty of tacos in my life, but these were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. They were thick, hearty, and absolutely packed with flavor, leaving me completely satisfied and eager for more. Cecina Grill doesn’t just serve tacos, they craft an experience. If you’re ever in Pilsen, this spot is a must. I’ll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu, but those al pastor tacos will be...
Read moreWent here for early dinner and I have to say the Mexican food is great being a hidden gem! This was Serendipity. I was originally gonna go to "Canton Regio" that co-workers talked about but they did not accept credit cards, it was cash only so I saw this resturant a few buildings down and gave it a chance.I was very happy. I had ordered their healthy beverage called "7 Vidas Medino" which had sugar beets and other fruits" and then ordered their special version of a skirt steak like dish called "Cecina Guerrer" with extra Guacamole. Meat was cook right. Not too dry for skirt steak and not too oily They give you complementary salsa and chips in which the salsa chip sauce or dip was spicy and delicious. It was made from scratch fresh and home made. There was no one sitting besides me and made me wonder how they stay in business but the waitress named Merary, mentioned they do get busy. I will come back for their steak fajitas which she told me was delicious also. The Guacamole was so fresh next to the fresh vegetables served with the Cecina Guerrer as a side. Again please give this hidden Mexican restaurant a chance in Pilsen. You won't be disappointed. Prices were reasonable too to the portion of food they give you so you won't leave hungry or...
Read moreI placed an order for pickup this morning and arrived at the restaurant 15minutes later to pick up. When I arrived, they hadn’t even started working on my order—they had me pay for the order and the waiter told me it was almost ready. This did not turn out to be the case at all. I ended up waiting 30min for my takeout. I would have left if they hadn’t already charged me. I asked two of the employees multiple times if my food was going to be ready soon and they kept telling me they were working on it. This makes no sense as I ordered menudo and birria—two dishes that are already made and only need to be warmed up. I placed the order ahead of time on the phone and wanted it to go to avoid being inside the restaurant for too long due to the current pandemic. Instead I ended up waiting 45 min total for a simple pickup order. This was my first visit to the restaurant and I will not be a...
