So I've now had two pretty bad experiences from this Domino's and I feel like I should share them.
First one: I get a pizza that's supposed to have spinach and jalapenos on it, and there's trace amounts of sausage on about a third of the pizza. I'm vegetarian, so this was incredibly unappetizing. I understand that this kind of thing happens, but it's evidence of poor food handling. I spent a couple years working at Potbelly and have my foodservice management certification to boot, so I know a couple things about protocol here.
Second one: I order pizza on a Sunday during the first snow of the year while Domino's is offering 50% off pizza. Naturally, I figure they're slammed, so when I'm quoted at a 3 hour wait, I shrug it off and accept it. I'm not one to complain much because I know that people get busy and stressed out and I hate adding to that. 3 hours comes and goes when all of the sudden, my Pizza Tracker crashes. When I reload it, there's no longer any order attached to my phone number. I check my bank account and my money has been refunded. I call the store, no answer. This was around 7:30pm, so the store was nowhere near closing hours. I then call corporate to try to make some sense of this, and they tell me the order was likely cancelled at store level and they would contact the store to follow up with me. It's been three days and the store has not followed up with me. I expect they never will and will happily amend this review if they do.
This Domino's has shown a pretty significant lack of customer service, transparency and general food quality. I know it's Domino's and that you get what you pay for, but that doesn't excuse the fact that many other Domino's in Chicago operate much better than this one. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreI used to love Domino's back in the day then I moved from Austin which abruptly ended our relationship. Then, Domino's tries to revamp itself with all these fake ads on television with obvious actors. Years later a new Domino's comes into my neighborhood and I decide to try out the food I once craved tremendously since there's nothing like fresh Domino's and a huge Slurpee from 7-Eleven to gulp it down with (the french call it "Poutine".)
I placed my order and like 15 minutes later the guy is at my door. I'm like WTF? That was scary fast. My order of specialty chicken with tomatoes, and a medium meat lover's pizza took how long to cook? Well anyways...what you notice is the drastic change in appearance to how things used to be. The pizza looked amazing with the cheese melted perfectly. The chicken was a little burned on some parts, but looked good as well.
Does it pass the taste test? Nope. I thought you were supposed to be better? I guess change isn't always the best since this was one of the blandest pizza's I've had in a long time. It completely justified the complaints I used to hear about the old Domino's. The chicken was no better, it was just terrible. You can feel the bland, low quality garbage going down your gullet like slime. It made me wish I had a Slurpee to wash it down, but all I had was the 2 liter of warm Pepsi that came with the order (which did not help AT ALL.)
This put me off Domino's forever.
Now which of my childhood foods will hit me in the back with a crowbar and steal my wallet next? Follow my...
Read moreBEWARE BUYERS!!!! THIS DOMINOES LOCATION WILL SCAM YOU BY GIVING YOU WRONG ORDERS, AND CHARGING TOO MUCH. I CALLED TO PLACE AN ORDER A LARGE PHILLY CHEESESTEAK, A MEDIUM HAWALLAN STYLE, 16 PC BONELESS WINGS, AND A 2-LITER ORANGE SODA. THE GUY WHO I TALKED OVER THE PHONE HAD GIVEN ME THE WRONG ORDER.... FOR THAT ORDER I WAS CHARGED A TOTAL OF $62.22 THEY BROUGHT ME 2 MEDIUM PIZZAS INSTEAD OF A LARGE AND A MEDIUM AND THEY STILL CHARGED ME THAT AMOUNT. THEY DON'T RESPECT THE ORDER GIVEN... THEY GIVE YOU WHAT THEY WANT. FOR 2 MEDIUM PIZZAS I SHOULDN'T BE PAYING 62 PLUS DELIVERY, AND THEY EXPECT A TIP. WHICH IN THEIR DEFENSE, IT'S A MUST) 😡 For the grand total, I PAID $70.00 I EXPECTED TO PAY LESS THAN 40 BUCKS. I Shouldn't be giving a tip when this location obviously they're only scamming you. I called the manager and gave me a dumb excuse. I was told that they couldn't place a coupon for the philly cheesesteak (I NEVER PLACE A COUPON FOR THIS ORDER SINCE I KNOW THOSE SPECIALTY PIZZAS COST MORE) BUT I DIDN'T CARE. I ONLY SHOULD PAY FOR WHAT I ORDER. The past orders, have been a total disaster from the wrong size or pizza to the missing sides like chicken...
