Starting with the booking process through the final phases of the appointment, Jackie was by far the most thorough, communicative & technically skilled barber I've had the pleasure of working with. Their experience and training in all things hair is apparent. Jackie's philosophy around hair having no gender (which is just a reality that is rarely acknowledged), and how they structure their business around that truth, from the way they price services, to the way they approach their work, was deeply appreciated and affirming. I am someone that’s always been very particular about their hair. Since I cut it short it’s been difficult finding the exact style that makes me comfortable directly after and in between cuts, but Jackie has been the key to making that experience happen. I went to them at the recommendation of a close friend (who’s been their client for over a decade), and I can’t believe I waited so long. While I love going in for my cut, I no longer feel antsy with the grow out, and enjoy my hair at every stage. Jackie is the only barber I trust with my hair. I'm surrounded by salons in my neighborhood but the 40-minute commute is worth it for me. I can go in with the vaguest request, not able to fully articulate what I want, and they somehow are always able to give me the perfect haircut. The grow out even looks great. They offer complimentary add-ons (essential oil hot towel wrap, scalp massage, etc.), as well as send you a virtual form to fill out before going in to set the vibe you want (in the mood for chatting, quiet and chill, etc.) and let you pick the music.
