[Did you notice half the reviews are about the service fee?]

I've been following The Drop In for a while, and was so excited to try for take out. Wish I could give higher reviews.... was it technically a good burger? yes. The bun was sweet and I really liked the pickles. The fries were clearly frozen so had to loose a star.

Then, I had to deduct a star for the 20% service fee that was added WITHOUT my knowledge. Again, this is a take out order. I waited 10 min with no one acknowledging me, stood, and they still charged me the fee. When I asked to take it off, they said they couldn't and a tip over 10% on top of that wouldn't be necessary... why would I tip 30% on a take out order? Honestly, it was the lack of transparency and that fact that it wasn't even written on the menu as a courtesy. That to me shows that they really just don't respect their customers to be up front.

It is a dive bar, so just lightly dirty across all surfaces, so again has to loose a star. I'm all for spending my money, but these prices are on par with established restaurants with service, ambiance, and an overall more positive experience.

So, my little late night craving of 1 burger and 1 fry ended up being $31. Sad I...

Came here after work on a Friday with a couple buddies, we walk in and are immediately told we can't sit at the tables by the entrance and are told to go stand in a small corner by the bar and get a drink until a table opens up, so I get a beer and I am told by the bar tender that I can't stand there to go sit at a table so I told him this is where that server told me to come stand. Finally a table opens up a couple minutes later and we go and sit down and are never approached again by the host/ server so I finish up my beer and I am disgusted when I see the the server /host go up to the table next to us and take their order. Thats when I decide to leave. I go close up my tab for the 1 beer, it around 6 bucks, end of story right ? Wrong, I open my banking app the next morning and see I not only had the 6 dollar beer tab as a transaction, but a 35 dollar tab as well from the same place WHEN I ONLY HAD ONE BEER. I am furious at this moment and try to call the place but no one answers. I can't rate the food because we didn't get our order taken because we were just skipped over, the bartender was a complete dbag and service was just bad. Won't be...

Revising the below review based on my second visit. My first visit, the burger was excellent, but my recent June 10 ‘23 was not what I remember it to be. The burger was just ok. Too many jalapeños and not exploding with flavor like last time. Tough part of having a restaurant is consistency. Maybe if I went again it could be better but just want to update those reading to keep your expectations down. Staff is excellent as always, very friendly and attentive.

One of the best damn burgers in town. Small cozy bar with friendly staff. This is not only a delicious burger for a bar but this is up there with Au Cheval. The burger is pretty damn heavy so beware but gat damn it’s delicious. Very juicy and flavorful with all the toppings. Also had the beast mode fries which comes with all the toppings of their cheeseburger. As delicious as they were, I was so full from the burger, the extra toppings on the fries were a bit much for me but on their own they’re like a 7.5. Fries were nice n crispy just how I like’em. Next time I’ll get the burger and plain fries.
