The service was bad. Had to wait and almost empty dining room all the waitresses evidently we're trying to get their stations cleaned up to get off shift. I was overlooked to One loan server was busy cleaning up her station and check to see if anyone had ever offered me a drink which I said no. She went to check on it since someone would be right there. I continue to wait and wait and wait which is something I don't do well. Finally a young lady came brought me a tea and took my order I waited and I waited. It was obvious that she was working in another dining area and had to just squeeze me in. When my food arrived my fried chicken was greasy from being reheated and it wasn't even hot. The squash have been reheated the breading was falling off and it too was cold. The squash casserole must have been the worst squash casserole I had ever tasted in my entire life. And tell the waitress when she returned how I did not like my order pointed out the things that I didn't like about it her response was I'll tell the manager. The only time she ever came back to check on me was when I was paying the bill. The young lady who took my money never asked if my food was good never asked anything. When I offered to her about my food she never responded. It was just like it went over her head. I asked for them number of the store the telephone number so I could call back when I got on the road as I was traveling. However I decided it wasn't really worth my time to call and I probably shouldn't said...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI worked here for many years and although I am not a fan of Mr. Robert Williams as he is mean to most of the staff, I am a fan of all the other Williams!! I do like the customers and I very much like the food! I must still give credit to the cleanliness of the restaurants and the quality of the food. The food is absolutely delicious! So I will not take away from that. My favorites are Flounder, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, collards, beef stewā¦. Oh! The salads are amazing with the fried chicken and egg! Omlets are good, donāt really like the bread anymore, that is probably because I ate it from the age of 16-30 haha. Nice friendly atmosphere from the customer perspective and good service! If you ever run into Mr. Matt Williams; He is one of the kindest people I ever met! John Williams too! They are wonderful people.
I would suggest if you are looking for great service and food do go here⦠if you have the pleasure of being waited on by Gloria, Marilyn, April, or Genieā¦. You will truly get great service, and the food is always yummy!
Cheers to Southern Food and a nice atmosphere to dine in, if you must get it to go, most locations have a drive through. Best Manager overall, āDaltonā.! Thanks for reading my review, and hope you decide to eat here, so that you know true Southern Food and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere to start... I used to go to Lizards Thicket quite often as a kid(late 80s/early 90s. I loved this place. The last time I went before today was roughly 20 years ago. It was OK, but forgettable. At lunch today, our waitress was attentive, she kept our drinks full and was pretty quick with our order. Our issue, honestly, was the food. It may as well have been from a school cafeteria. My chicken fried steak... It may have at one time been meat, but it was barely that today. The gravy is obviously a powder base and was thick as paste. The apples were indescribably gross. My potato salad may have been OK, but was poorly mixed. I got a huge clump of what I assume was mayonnaise in one bite that completely turned me off of it. I was extremely jealous of my wife eating her salad until... She pulled a price/produce tag out of her salad. I can only assume it was off of the tomato or something to that effect. The food industry as a whole has gone downhill choosing profit over quality. Overall this was a pretty horrible experience, and doubt I will return. A place that I enjoyed as a kid has truly lost all...
