The one we usually frequented is kaput and the one in Big Bear is too far a drive. Every time we've been to a Sizzler over the last 5 years we left with a five-star raining and very happy. For my birthday we all met on a Saturday at noon, and the first time at this one. The first thing we noticed is the parking lot had really small spaces and a lot of people parking on the lines so there's a lot of waste parking spaces. The waitress was friendly and their menu still has the same great options. The lady behind the counter who took our order, not so much. I ordered the steak and all you can eat shrimp with a baked potato. Reason enough to pick Sizzler is their amazing appetizer cheese bread that is complementary and meets you as soon as you sit. Delicious. When I received my steak and potato they were room temperature. I figured it was fine and I would take them as leftovers, and focus on the delicious bread and my all you can eat shrimp. Sadly, when you ask for a refill on shrimp, and I'm sure this is their manager's tactic, you get the cocktail sauce in 10 minutes and then the shrimp 10 minutes after that. A restaurant who offers all-you-can-eat shrimp should not make people wait 20 minutes for their shrimp. Which is a tiny plate with a few shrimp on it BTW. The other Sizzlers don't do that. Also, my wife's favorite part of the salad bar is the carnitas, which they have removed. None of us were very happy with this visit. I would have rated it very much lower if I wasn't happy to take the leftovers home. We love Sizzler, add like the others this place is very clean and will kept, and this is the first time we haven't left extremely pleased. I hope this was...
Read moreMy family loves this location. We’ve been coming here for over 15 years and the food is always great. Today we went to have a late lunch and were so disappointed at the treatment we received. I ordered a sirloin steak and wanted to add on a salad bar and share with my husband. We recently had surgery and can’t eat very much so it doesn’t make sense to order individual plates when we can barely even get through one when we share it. The girl that took our order let us know that wasn’t allowed. Ok, fine. We paid for a separate unlimited salad bar for my husband. He made a salad and sat down with us. I took a few bites of his salad and our server came over to tell us that the salad bar is not shareable. We are not eating 17 salads. One salad is all we can even eat right now. I felt like a child being shamed for doing something wrong. We’ve been to other restaurants since our surgery and have never tried to hide it. We are honest that we are sharing and have never had any restaurant micromanage our lunch or dinner. I can’t believe that after so many years coming here we get treated like some sort of scammers who are trying to steal food. In all honesty, in this economy, restaurants should be happy people are still even coming in period. Everything is so expensive now. I feel bad for anybody else who needs to share a plate for financial reasons, don’t come here. You’ll be shamed and embarrassed (more than once). On top of everything, the expensive salad bar that is not shareable was pretty dry. The lettuce looked wilted and old. There were no wings. We will definitely go elsewhere next time. I am...
Read more5 stars for a Sizzler? Yup.
Went in for lunch, got a salad bar and added their (I guess) new teriyaki sirloin skewers for only 4 bucks. If you've never been to a Sizzler they have an excellent salad bar with a good blue cheese dressing (if you are in the blue cheese loving family) with extra blue cheese crumbles you can add separately (pretty rare), and real bacon bits (also rare). They have a few different prepared salads like a thai salad and pasta salad along with four different soups including menudo for my Latin friends. They also have tacos with ground beef, potato skins, one style of wings and newly added orange chicken that wasn't too bad. Overall everything was good and I even liked the soft serve that is more "icy" than "creamy" if that makes any sense (see pic), I always think that style is more refreshing.
All in all this location (yes, this location specifically as, last time I checked, it is owned by the BMW restaurant group and they do a great job of keeping this location in tip-top shape. I've seen other Sizzlers close but this one has always kept the quality up (service too, Kimberly was great), and it shows, and it keeps people coming back even through the tough times. With great deals like the really good teriyaki skewers for 4 bucks (yeah, you gotta add them to an $18 salad bar, but that's prices these days), I will be coming back when I want to stuff my face with a salad bar that is really a mini buffet. $3.79 for a soda though??...
