Crisp and Green — Restaurant in West Des Moines

Updating my review. I emailed support as suggested below. They added credits to our rewards account and credited me with a gift card for a free salad. As a new, fast growing company they explained that their technology with the rewards program is a bit behind and that’s why the store staff can’t update the account in person. Okay. I appreciate their efforts and we continue to visit here every week! They also have a patio area set up for summertime. The portions lately have been as expected so maybe I got a one off. Great products and choices keep us coming back.

The salads here are terrific. My husband and I love Pesto Parm Perfection and C’est La Viche. We come 1-2 times per week even though it’s pricey. We joined their loyalty program and last week my husband forgot to scan our order so I took in our receipt today to get a “punch”. They would not give us credit for the purchase and said we had to call “Support” - really? It was a waste of time to stop and ask. Also, they were very busy last weekend and when I got takeout and got home and opened my salad, what I got was pictured below. The staff were literally just throwing things in a bowl and not measuring anything. My salad was less than half full, for $14?? The picture below is honestly before I took a single bite. I showed the staff this picture today and their response was “we have a lot of new staff”. Did not offer a refund or to remake it. So I asked for a manager and he said “you can ask to have it remade next time you come in”. I think they have a lot to learn about Customer Service and having new staff is not an excuse. I told my friend I wanted something quick and healthy for dinner tonight and she brought me here! They have an assembly line set-up similar to Cava or Chopt on the East Coast. The ingredients looked and also tasted extremely fresh!

My friend is Vegan and Gluten-Free so she made some mods to her bowl--which the staff graciously accommodated, even making several recommendations along the way. The manager trained the rest of the staff on food allergies and proper handling as she was making my friend's bowl. Very thorough! If you have food sensitivities or other dietary restrictions the same person that starts your bowl will assemble it all the way down so that there's no contamination!

We both had the Wild Child! Hers without meat or dairy. Both were absolutely delicious! The veggies including leafy greens were crispy, and the rice was the perfect texture! The flavor combination was on-point! We also got an Agua Fresca and smoothie to try! Both were tasty and not overly sweet. I spent about $35 for the two of us.
