Local from Oahu North Shore. I have tried many Hawaiian food locations in Utah I have seen many come and go. So let me tell you my first experience here. I ordered the mixed plate 3 meats Kalbi, teriyaki Chicken, Garlic Chicken. I also ordered a mini Chicken Katsu for my kid (spoiler 4 year old at it all). The Kalbi was a solid 9.5/10 of what I tried in my lifetime the teriyaki chicken was on the lighter side meaning the flavors did have a strong impact but it did not leave the heavy after taste of normal teriyaki chicken. The garlic chicken was probably on the lowest end of what I have ever tried it was still good I ate it all didn't leave you heavy at all but it could have been more crunchy and more favorable. The rice is cooked in a way like it is undercooked but it is meant that way because they offer to put teriyaki sauce in the rice I got it in the side to try both ways with it on a solid 8/10 rice for Utah for me personally though it would be 7/10. That being said the chicken Katsu and sauce they nailed it near perfect 10/10 best chicken katsu sauce i have ever had and you know it is good when you let it sit for a bit gets cold and it is still good. I got talking with them and they even let me sample the kalua pork it was not heavy salty like traditional Hawaiin and had a good smokey Ness to it very good fast forward to today. Brought a coworker and my kid again ordered kalbi plate excellent ordered Honolulu burger I will be ordering one of these every time I come. Ordered chicken katsu and kalua pork mixed plate quality was still up and good. Would I come again? For sure when I am craving Hawaiian food and I can not make it back to...
Read moreWorst so-called Hawaiian food I've ever had in my life. I ordered the chicken curry and was charged 0.35 cents extra for teriyaki sauce I never requested. Sharilyn was sneaky and tricky when she asked if I wanted the sauce on the side: too bad she never mentioned they charge extra for it. It seemed weird they'd offer teriyaki sauce with chicken curry, but, this being my first time eating at this restaurant, I thought maybe it's their thing. Once I saw the 0.35 cents extra charge on the receipt, I figured it was a way to extract more money from unsuspecting customers. On to the chicken curry: I think the right way to describe it would be "chicken curry soup" or "chicken curry stew", as it was runny and bland with only a couple of pieces of meat. No taste whatsoever. The tiny portion left me hungry and highly dissatisfied. Even though I didn't like the food at all, I finished it because I hate wasting food (even when it sucks), but I'll not be returning to this sorry excuse for a Hawaiian restaurant. If you're looking for real Hawaiian food, decent portions, honest business practices and good value, avoid...
Read moreWhen you walk in you are smacked in the face hard by the smell of used oil.
You order a lunch dish at about 12.50 and there is only 1 person waiting for their food, but you'll still wait 20 minutes.
By the time you get your food, you'll likely be nauseous from breathing in the used cooking oil in the air for the past 20 minutes.
If not, and you are still hungry (and you ordered noodles) be prepared to be absolutely flabbergasted. You will be presented with a dish that will make you second guess what you ordered. It will make you replay your ordering several times in your head trying to find where you were warned of the atrocity you asked for. But you weren't.
Imagine a stir fry with less noodles than a pack of ramen (and the same quality). A stir fry that hasn't even been stirred to coat the noodles with sauce. A stir fry with a couple shreds of cabbage (I think) and nothing else.
If this gets you excited, go here and order yourself some stir fry noodles (all noodles) for lunch.
A refund was given after asking about the quality of...
