The Midway — Restaurant in West Sacramento

Want to preface that I have eaten here before. Service hasn’t been stellar if you sit outside but I like the atmosphere and good shade for my dog.

Today was the awful! I waited 25 min for a menu. I went inside 2 times asking for a menu and was told someone would bring one out, even though I was willing to take right then. The table next to me got up after I had 2x and ask them to bring me a menu!!!!

Once I was given the menu, I was given less then 20 sec to look at the drinks on what I would order, as if I was inconveniencing them.

Finally someone came out to take my order. Waited another 25 min to get my food. People that came in after me had already had their order taken and had left. I asked for a box immediately. I had made a request on my order and it was made without the request. Wasn’t told till after my food came out. I understand I am one person and they had a party of 12 inside ( that came in WELL AFTER ME) but I was planning on ordering more food and decided not to after this experience.

I know the famous line, “I will never come back” doesn’t mean anything, but I never will and I will make sure to tell others.

I understand being short staffed and no one wants to work, but this is something I can’t get past. When I am looked past purely because I am going out as 1 person and not a party of 4 or more.

I know where this restaurant stands with me.

(Edit): Called for the food delivery, was told they changed the menu (yet again). Associate was pretty condescending, or acted like he didn't want to work there asking "do you just wanna have a conversation l, or want to talk? I don't really have time and I've had a long day."

Nah, I'm calling to pay for food, not an attitude. Excellent way to sell food and drinks. I'm sure the owner appreciates you pushing away customers.

We often had bad days, or long ones. Ironically when the bar or kitchen isn't closed yet, why not be polite to sell more products? The bar empty on a Saturday at 430pm, employees venting to customers, no defined hours of closing (I Asked, and was told maybe between 10 or 12. Pretty big window...). Promises of live music without delivery. It's 430pm on a Saturday evening. Maybe you just had a long night. I can see why turn over rate is high. Professionalism from service employees is mediocre at best. The food was great though. Check out the other local restaurants nearby, they don't treat their customers with disregard/disrespect. (Old review): Food is good, a bit pricey - so because of that it's about service: Bartender Chloe absolutely kills it! She is personable, polite, and accomodating.
