Erbert and Gerberts — Restaurant in West St. Paul

Alright so I've tried this location twice now since it opened. Both times, the wild rice soup was a huge miss. The first time, there wasn't even any rice in it and it was watery. The second, it seemed somewhat better until I bit into a solid carrot, indicating the soup may not be the proper temperature.

The cold sandwich (comet candy) I tried was fine but their version of a cheese steak (Northern) had almost as much mayo as it did meat. Really disappointing and honestly baffling that it wouldn't be somewhat better with superior cheese steak options already in the area.

The stars I'm giving it are for the in-store cleanliness. It's very well-kept so far. Though I wasn't given a tray, despite dining in, so I needed to scoop everything up at the beginning and end of my meal. Not too fun with trash! Looking around, they don't appear to have any trays, unless I missed them.

I used to be a big fan of Erbs from my days in Winona, but I don't see any reason to come back...

Two days ago I went to erbert and Gerbert west Saint Paul. I did an online order and my daughter had gotten a sandwich and I got a sandwich. My daughter kept saying something was hard in her sandwich and it was gross, I thought she didn't like the onions and banana pepper so I ignored it. I told her take them out. Then she did not want it and gave it to me. I took a bite and something hard fell out I have a video of it and then the smell of it seemed like something was old inside of that. I used to love this location, but i’m just appalled. I ordered a boney billy, probably the easiest sandwich on the menu, and was given bacon and lettuce on bread. That’s it. I do not understand unless you have 13 year olds working how this happens. Called and the “manager” hung up. This is why the restaurant is failing. Hire better, competent people who can do the most basic job of making a sandwich that is on the menu. Girl doesn’t even know how to give a proper, full refund. Never ever coming back & have made a...
