My family and I absolutely love Boba. Our goal is to try every boba place in the metro area. I was really excited by the high star rating of this place. I was surprised to see so few teas on the menu, Im used to boba and tea. I guess they didn't call it boba tea, just boba and design for a reason :) But that's okay we were happy to try anything. And the drink prices were fair so we all got something different.
But I have to say we got three drinks & ended up dumping three drinks in the sink. All of us tasted an off taste in our cups. When we were able to isolate the boba, we found out that it was the problem. It tasted like a sugar substitute, maybe in order to save calories the boba is stored in a slurry of brown sugar and substitute IDK. Even beyond that issue, no one likes thier drinks. The Coco dream, even with the cookie in it, was bland beyond the boba. The Supreme orange was just watered down orange juice with lots of orange slices. Most people would love the orange slices, the problem was that you ate so much pith. Pith is bitter and unpleasant. I got the signature tea that tasted nothing like tea. I was excited, you check the website and they say they make everything on site. So the tea should be great.
But they say they make everything, even your milk. How do you make milk in store? Seems unlikely.
The two stars I did give are for the staff, very friendly and accommodating. Fantastic people.
Also the cups are great, high quality and washable.
Didn't try the design part, fabulous idea. But way...
Read moreI was in the mood for a fruit tea so I stopped into Blue Blue to grab a goody. It was my first time here so I was hoping they had fun and different options.
After checking their menu, I decided on the pineapple lime fruit tea. I have never had this fruit combo before and was excited to try it out! I usually see your typical strawberry, peach, lychee options but this was completely different which was cool.
My fruit tea was really refreshing. It wasn't overly sweet. It had fresh pineapple bits and slices of lime in it. It's a combination that I've never had before and I'm happy I got to try it out.
We have quite a few boba spots in Boise but non of them offer some of the drinks they have here. Hopefully I can make it in again to try another drink. If I can't, I'm still happy I got to try the drink...
Read moreBlue Blue is such a cool place to hang out and their bobas are divine! I got the Taro boba and my sister got the fresh fruit tea.
The Taro boba was amazing, the milk was creamy, the boba was perfectly cooked, and there was even real taro in the drink. It was nice because the drink wasn’t too sweet.
If you want something refreshing, the fruit tea is perfect!
Walk to the back of the tea bar and there are stations where you can decorate your own phone case or frame with all kinds of charms! 100% recommend this tea bar.
UPDATE: We went back and decorated a mirror and a picture frame 🥰 It was SO worth it. They have a location where you can design your own T-shirt too. Ask the employees about it.
Shout out to Shawn...
