The Nerd Store — Local services in West Valley City

I have to be done with this place. Been here several to always bad. And they refuse to negotiate price on damaged cards lol The manager, the tall one with blue eyes and a beard. Was extremely rude to me and my family. I asked to buy some singles, and offered to pay cash, and asked if I could get a few bucks off paying in cash. Instead of saying yes or no. He goes off on a rant about how it makes no difference to him. And that he's not gone be the one pocketing the cash. Then proceeded to tell me, "he doesn't mind people asking as long as they don't mind him telling them no." horrible people skills, then it gets better. He says it's still better for him, if I pay in cash.... Smh what is going on.. Idk if he was taking a bad day out on me or what. So I buy a few cards still pay cash. But my family and I just got stared down as we tried to look around. Not only was he rude to me, he made me feel extremely uncomfortable. And I was a paying customer. It was not a good time, and hurt my feelings. And I felt completely unwelcome. And it's not the first time, I've been here many times. And several times I've been treated like a burden. But today I was disrespected for no reason, other then asking a question. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. they treat respectful paying customers very rudely. And act like it's a waste of time to serve you. I've had maybe 1 good experience out of like 8x being here. Not good numbers. Please don't support scalpers like them and rude ownerswh are mean to collecters in...

i myself, personally, have a staggering lack of interest in most things, but the nerd store has been a weekly trip i look forward to since i started venturing here a year ago with my roommate. the staff is so nice and friendly, they really make you feel comfortable. i never feel stupid asking questions. theres game nights/tournaments, a huge selection of comics, plush, accessories, dnd supplies, figurines... its everything. theyve even got video games now! i really like this place a lot. coming here really brightened my life in unexpected ways, which probably sounds silly, but after moving across the country a couple years ago to live in utah, saturday nights at the nerd store playing heroclix and collecting things was the first time i felt a sense of community and made new friends since my move. i think these qualities are all important to have for a business, and that everybody who works here should feel proud. i HIGHLY recommend this store not only to collectors and nerdly folk, but to anybody looking for something new to get into; comics, games, collecting, etc... please give them a chance!!! ❤️ you wont be...

You guys really rock!! And the guy who helped me with my pokemon cards was awesome he actually helped me figure some fake ones out never getting pokemon cards from the seven 11 again!! But he was really honest with some of my v max ones with the prices and I appreciated that and he also appreciated me not getting upset about the fake cards which I had a feeling were so it actually makes me happy we figured that out for sure. Oh and he separated them for me too so I could keep the fakes away from my authentic ones I don't know his name but he has brown hair in a Pony tail and deserves praise for his amazing service, he was friendly and his customer service is on point. I also want to thank Emily too she was so busy but took the time to be amazing and has great customer service too, she is also going to keep an eye out for gojo merch for me too above and beyond service from everyone at the store you all rock!
