We had some friends from NYC visit which revealed an abhorrent lack of diners in my local restaurant repertoire so we made it a goal to seek an old reliable diner experience.. quick google search around me indicated a very close, very consistent diner which, for having been born and lived in South Westminster for the vast majority of my life, I was severely lacking an experience with. so upon the discovery that there was no syrup in my pantry for a home-cooked breakfast, we brushed our teeth and headed to Nancy's Cafe. planted in a former Walmart parking lot for about the last two decades, Nancy's Cafe is well worn and obviously also well-loved. we were lucky enough to have Nancy herself be our server. She was very friendly and remembered my name while we were on our way out the door after breakfast, which I appreciate because it takes me 10 tries to remember someone's name. breakfast was impeccable. fast, hearty, cooked the way we requested everything. i would not hesitate to have breakfast there again! husband said he's looking forward to trying out the tuna melt for lunch soon! if you're looking for a refined, polished, bougie breakfast experience keep moving and looking. if you want a friendly, well-loved, and fast diner- this is your place! thanks for the brekkie Nancy! we'll be back soon!

Oh, man. We knew the food would be good because of how packed the place was, and we were not disappointed. I got the chicken fried steak skillet and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife got the coconut French toast, and it's high on the list of all-time best French toast. The slices were thick. The edges were nicely crispy, and the inside was soft & moist. They served it with a sweet sauce, kind of like condensed milk with a little vanilla in it. My food was very good, but the French toast was good enough to make me regret ordering anything else. Edit 2022.08.22: I got to bring my cousin from out of town. This time I got the coconut French toast myself so I didn't have to feel guilty stealing my wife's, and it's just as good as I remembered.

Nancy's cafe is an old, slightly run-down traditional cafe with the charm of incredible American breakfast food done right at a fraction of the cost. My steak and eggs came out perfectly cooked medium rare, with hash browns and biscuits and gravy for $12.99, which would be practically unheard of in Denver. Service was excellent, the menu is extensive and will have something for everyone, and portions are plentiful. Do NOT miss out on the Coconut French toast! I have never had better French toast anywhere else.

We were looking for a new breakfast spot. And this place is close and had good reviews. The food wasn't bad. Typical greasy spoon viddles. However, I'm sticking to 3☆ for the following reasons.

  1. Price. It was way more expensive than I anticipated for breakfast. $4 fountain sodas. That's a little ridiculous. It was over $60 for three people. For breakfast.
  2. Seats. It's time to put a little bit of coin back into the place. I was uncomfortable the entire time. The springs in the booth seat were either broken and/or missing.
  3. Cleanliness. I understand this place is old. But it's time for a 'deep clean.' Anyone who's worked in food service (especially in an older establishment) knows what I mean. The BIG question. Will I go back? The answer is... Maybe. Like I said before. The food wasn't bad. The portions aren't large enough to justify the price. And I think that might be the deciding factor for me and anyone who reads this. I won't recommend this place to anyone. But I won't discount the die-hards...

Nancy has probably worked very far to get where she is, but being the biological offspring of her now husband, they truly give my grandfather's last name a shameful connotation. Peace be with y'all that venture near here, but all old southern hospitality perceived is lost when your see the strange decor hung-up and realize the pathetic struggles of her husband. Sorry Nancy, I didn't know he was around still when I was homeless around your Cafe for a year, until my mother had the decency to let me know. Especially when there was a concerning white Econoline van that resided in that parking lot for a period of time. Thanks for the good breakfasts and giving me work for the short period of time I knew you, but this is the best way to cut ties and let anyone know, I'll never become a man, if a man is that poor excuse of a being that is your...
