My husband received a recommendation for here due to his love of bao buns. Located kitty corner behind the shopping center Microcenter and Jewel are located in, we never even knew the restaurant was there, nor how deliciously authentic it tastes! We have now been here several times, and everything we had was fabulous. Plus, the staff is really great about making sure you understand what it is you are ordering.
The steamed buns, which brought us here, were prepared perfectly. We also love the broth of the spicy soup selections, like the Dan-Dan noodle soup (something I find myself craving now!). Last time we were there, my hubby tried the Szechuan Noodle Soup, which we both agreed was spicier than the Dan-Dan. How spicy? Mr. King of Spicy Foods didn't finish all the broth, fearing it was more than he could take! (But, that's okay, because I got some more of the soup then – a great sinus-clearing agent!)
The pancake noodles are also my new favorite. I love their texture and moisture level (they are unlike any noodle I have ever had). I usually get the combo one mixed with all the meats, but last time, I tried the Dry Chili Stir Fried Pancake, which had "mild spice." It definitely gave the dish more of a kick, but nothing compared to that Szechuan Noodle soup!
On our first visit a couple years ago, I enjoyed a cold plate lunch of fish teriyaki. Kinda like a fish jerky, it really grew on me the more I had. I don't think they have all these cold items in the case now though since pandemic. Hopefully, they return!
It's a small cozy area for dining in, but hot tea is included with your meal. The only thing I would change is I wish they had a bigger dining space so it wasn't so tight & crowded, but their food is too delicious to knock them down a star for that! They do offer carryout, and they are so popular that at times, I have seen the tables loaded with the bags, so be sure to check and make sure your order is the...
Read moreK's Dumplings is a small, family-owned restaurant that has been serving up delicious dumplings for over 20 years. The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Westmont, but don't let that fool you - the food is anything but ordinary.
The menu at K's Dumplings features a wide variety of dumplings, all made fresh to order. You can choose from pork, chicken, shrimp, or vegetable dumplings, and they come in a variety of flavors, including steamed, pan-fried, and boiled. I personally recommend the pork dumplings with garlic sauce - they are absolutely delicious!
In addition to dumplings, K's Dumplings also serves a variety of other Chinese dishes, such as noodles, rice, and stir-fries. I also tried the beef noodle soup, and it was very flavorful and hearty.
The service at K's Dumplings is friendly and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is also family-friendly, and it has a casual atmosphere.
Overall, I would highly recommend K's Dumplings to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Chinese food in Westmont.

Read moreJust so you might want to know, I go out and eat Chinese food whenever I get to. I’m used to the restaurants in Chinatown - mediocre service, if not worse; but great food! The food is all I care.
So, I searched this place and was so excited to eat there. They have “Shanghai style fish” in the menu, that was mainly what I was excited about. But when I ordered this dish, the waitress, who barely spoke English told/gestured me that this one was not available. I was so disappointed. But I ordered a dandan noodle instead. Although the noodle tasted good, there was almost nothing to go with the noodle; except for very little chives and sauce. Didn’t worth $11.
Here was the twist: not until I got up and paid my bill, I found that they did have the fish. Except that it was made 2 days ago and sold as a take out dish. What a disappointment!!
Service was terrible. As I said, I normally don’t expect a great service in Chinese restaurant. But this one was ridiculous. No water, no bathroom unless you asked for it. Let alone checking on you and all that good stuff. But maybe that was not my table. I did notice that they were much nicer and courteous to (forgive me saying that) caucasians. The waitress kept saying “yes, sir; thank you sir”; whereas the only thing she said to me was “do you have cash?”. What the heck?? Seriously!!! what the heck?!
Their food still tastes fine, but I’ll never go...
