We had a really mixed experience here on a Tuesday night. Service was slow and we didn’t feel waited on much at all. For a place where 2 people can easily get to 150-200 dollar bill I expected more. We did sit on the bar/lounge side.
Our initial drinks sat at the bar for 6 minutes (I timed it after our waiter walked past them the first time). Our waiter also didn’t seem to hear things we said much. We said we hadn’t dined with them he replied “thank you for coming again.” My husband ordered the Aperol De Napoli cocktail. Got a regular Aperol spritz which my husband actually was happy with.
The baked clams have too much breading. And we tasted nothing but breading, butter and garlic. The fritti misto was good but it was mostly calamari with two shrimp and two scallops. Our entrees were both good. We both got different chicken entrees. The super Tuscan wine we got was okay. Not the best but not anywhere close to the worst wine we have ever had.
The chocolate syrup on/around the tiramisu is too much. Decrease the amount of get rid of it. The bites with the least chocolate were the best.
It’s opening weeks. Service got better when large tables started to leave but still not at what I would expect at a restaurant with these prices. There are enough items on the menu that sound really good that we will likely be back. We will try the regular dining side next time but typically my husband and I find that we enjoy the service around the bar better than transitional dining. But...
Read moreWe were hoping this would live up to all the other great restaurants in downtown Wheaton, however this was not the case. First off, our server Paige was AMAZING but unfortunately that was the only good thing. We ordered arancini and meatballs as our starters. The arancini tasted like the grease they were fried in with little to no taste and it was basically a flavorless rice ball. The meatballs were another disappointment, no flavor and did not taste as if they were freshly made. My wife order the spinach ravioli, as did I for my side, and it was average. Nothing exciting about it. My main original course was their special pork chops. They came burnt, dry and tasted horrible. I sent it back after one bite and switched to the white fish. Again, very minimal flavor. The only flavor was from the sauce. It was extremely loud in the restaurant and we found ourselves having to speak louder than usual. Being someone that enjoys dining out, this was a major let down and we will not...
Read moreThis was my first visit to their new Wheaton location! My family and I have always loved the taste of Positano Oakbrook. This location is an elevated experience compared to their sister restaurant.
The food has the same authentic taste paired with an elegant ambiance perfect for celebrations or date night! It’s dimly lit, sleek and stunning.
I CRAVE the vodka sauce! It’s creamy, yet light, with a little kick of spice. The grigliato misto is a must order every time I visit.
The service is top tear, featuring immediate bread and water service. Our server, Gerardo, was amazing at gauging when we were ready to order without interrupting dinner conversation.
This location is so spacious, including a sprawling outdoor patio, and a bar & lounge separated from the main dining room. My favorite design choice is the stacked, see through wine cellar.
I can confidently say this is the next up and coming Italian spot in the...
