The Depot Pizza & Taps — Restaurant in Wichita

As a military wife, I was incredibly disappointed by our experience with this event space. From the beginning, the owner assured us of several accommodations that ultimately were not delivered on the day of the event. What made the situation even more upsetting was how he handled the topic of the military discount. He made a point to insinuate that he was already doing us a favor by offering it—despite the fact that it’s clearly listed as part of the venue's policy.

Let me be clear: a military discount is NOT charity!!! It is a small token of appreciation that many businesses offer to those who have sacrificed for this country. My husband, like so many others, has served to protect the very freedoms that allow this business to operate. To have that service dismissed or treated as a bargaining chip is not only unprofessional, but downright offensive to any proud American!!!

We chose this space in good faith, for a family event trusting the promises that were made. Instead, we were let down, disrespected, and left feeling like our service to this country was something to be brushed off. I sincerely hope this business reevaluates how it communicates with and treats veterans and...

I know everyone seems to love this place, but I think it's just kind of bland. The service was good, no complaints. The server was polite and the food arrived promptly. That's worth something.

The building is old, so apparently that means I can't say anything bad about it. The parking is awkward though. The spaces are sized for a compact carriage, not a modern-day behemoth like a Smart car or a Fiat. The entrance is awkward and the interior is built around the bar, which is clearly the focus of this business. It is a bar that happens to sell food, not a restaurant that serves drinks, and the quality of the food reflects that.

If I had been drinking all night, I would be blown away by the heat and eat club sandwich. Normally, this kind of gourmet cuisine is only found at fine establishments like QuikTrip. QT doesn't have microwaved waffle fries with their sandwiches though. It must have been my lucky day though. I was fortunate enough to have an empty bottle of ketchup to compliment the bed of salt accompanying my potato garnish.

One of my new favorite breweries in Wichita! Super chill atmosphere, nice place to hang and unwind. Amazing beer paired with some great bar food. My favorite part by far was the outstanding service. I was truly blown away with my visit here, every single person working here was extremely kind and friendly. I had the pleasure of being served by the sweetest and most helpful server, Chase. He made sure my beers were full and that my food was great. Had the pleasure of being served by Katie another time I came, and she was also the absolute best! She provided her recommendations for trying new beers and was very helpful and kind! Love her! I would gladly blow half my paycheck here in one night with some friends just to have the pleasure of being taken care of by the lovely people that work here! I cannot appreciate them enough!
