Peerless — Restaurant in Wichita

It took me forever to get a drink and the bar wasn't that busy. I was standing under the order here sign and the bartender kept waiting on everyone else but me. I was there for the battle of the bands. They judged the competition after the second band be for the last band had even played. It was obviously fixed because the band that won was horrible. They had music taped and it was like a nightmare version of karaoke. They obviously plugged the bar full of people so they would have the most audience participation..... The audience had to have a cue when to make noise. They were still and standing around most of the time. There were supposed to be 2 silent judges and audience participation was supposed to be in the event of a tie. They judged the event before the last band and then stated the last band had no audience participation so they would have lost anyway.... Uhhhh what happened to the judges and audience participation only being a tie breaker? Oh well they got a 45 min set of free music and an entire months worth of an excellent sound man and use of his equipment for free.... I thought the whole thing was horrible and the...

This quaint & comfortable bar is right downtown, one of those that occupy a long & kinda narrow building. You walk in the front door to find a couple of pool tables on one side & some seating areas opposite. Nice comfy chairs, a couple of sofas. Then a few areas across from the well stocked bar. Most of the back is dedicated to the bands that play there for your enjoyment, leaving enough room for a few dancers, should the mood hit you. The staff are efficient & courteous, making everyone feel welcome & happy to be there. The decor reminds me of places I found along the coast of Calif. All laid back, lots of plants, which are very healthy for all. But my favorite part was all the pieces of art that are created by local artists. Most were for sale, which I found to be different & welcome! In fact I plan on bringing some of my own creations, in the hope of selling them. That's how comfortable I am, to entrust them with my own work! So people, this place is well worth your time to check out...

I would like to make one thing clear before this review; i was not inebriated in any way because I do not drink alcohol and you can check the cameras (in fact I encourage it) That being said.

I was extremely disappointed with the extremely disrespectful/inappropriate staff. My friend was way too intoxicated. When I knocked on the door after hours to get her home safe the staff said “she’s not going anywhere.” I told them “Until I hear from her that she is consenting to stay here with you guys” that I wasn’t leaving. I also informed them that I would call authorities if I didn’t see her within 2 minutes. I am trying to get ahold of the owner of this establishment in a timely manner before I do...
