Disclaimer: I'm not a beach guy or touristy large crowds type, but the family wanted the beach.
*The resort is located on the beach near a pier. Multiple access to the sand and boardwalk. The beach has widened over the years, so you will have a long walk to the water. Rentals are nearby, and I highly suggest getting a sand buggy/wagon and umbrella from them (winds can be strong). They even arranged to deliver to our room for checkin; that made it easy. *Rooms were dated but clean; I heard they have already begun renovating rooms. Great A/C, water pressure, and normal kitchen utensils and appliances. The exterior was fresh, clean, and updated with a nice pool, sun decks, and gas grills. The housekeeping service was great. *Parking is VERY TIGHT, making un/packing your vehicle a circus. One vehicle parking per room, and sometimes we had to climb through the trunk to gain access to our seats. Trucks/cars were regularly blocking the path to the front wheel chair ramp, which also made it a challenge to pack/unpack. If you bring a second car, you can park in non-metered parking two blocks away in the residential area. *The WiFi was horrible (we were on third floor and had good signal), I was put on three different routers, and all had the same issue where you could connect, after awhile, but the router would not provide an IP address OR you connected and were immediately kicked off. I had to turn my phone into a wireless hotspot to provide internet access for my work computer and kids' devices. The front desk tried to help.
The price seemed high to me, but I didn't shop around, and I'm not used to coming to the Jersey Shore in summer. The prices always fluctuate during tourist season, and this place was packed...so I think we probably got a good deal. The rest of my family and extended family love this place.
Overall, I thought the staff were excellent and the location great (I enjoy a good view), and I would recommend and stay at this...
Read moreThis is my first time at this motel. First time in Wildwood NJ. Safe to say it is my last time. All the nice pics and positive comments on my social media will be coming down. My family and I came down because the school year ended and I had some time off after working hard all year. We decided on Wildwood. We planned with 4 other families who also had long years and decided to spend 3 days here. On our second night we opted to just hang out by the pool. We were aware the pool area closes at 7PM (that alone is insane because it was a hot and steamy day). So we moved to an area away from the pool that is supposed to be an open and public area. It was a deck on the second floor of the motel. All five families were there enjoying the view of the ocean. We were listening to some music which was very low (our conversations drowned out the music). At 8pm we were told to lower the music which wasn't loud. At 8:35PM we were told to shut it off. It still was not loud. At 10:30 PM an employee of this place, an older man with gray and thinning hair approached us and threatened to call the cops on us if we didn't leave the deck area which is never shut down. Those were his first words to us: "You gotta leave the deck area because I'm shutting it down.". He was closing an area off which is never shut down. He seemed very annoyed about it and was borderline confrontational. This is no way to decompress and enjoy a mini vacation. I spent $590 for a two and a half day stay. The room was 15 x 20 with two full-sized beds with a bathroom the size of a show box. Never coming here...
Read moreOur family stayed at the Attache Motel recently. We booked our room online using Travelocity. The two main reasons we chose this motel were the proximity to the beach and the price. Close to the beach and pretty inexpensive are a good combination. When we arrived, we had to pay a fee for paying with our credit card and we also had to pay a (refundable) deposit on our room keys. It wasn't the best start but we were looking forward to getting settled in so we went to see our room. The room was a bit dated but it was clean. Unfortunately, it smelled like cleaning chemicals but there are worse smells and at least we knew that the cleaning lady was thorough. After settling in, we went out to eat and walk down the boardwalk. There were several places that we could have walked to so we took our pick, ate and continued our mini-vacation. The motel is right near the beach and boardwalk so we checked out some shops that evening and the following morning we walked down to the beach for some early morning beach-combing before checking out of the motel. The location was great but we didn't like the noisy guests running around and yelling. We also didn't like that the odor of cigarette smoke kept wafting about. We walked through some serious stink with our 10 month old and we were not happy about it but smoking was allowed outside of the rooms so there wasn't much we could have done. The staff was pretty friendly but we weren't there long enough to see if any of the other circumstances...
