To start I’m visiting in the off season and pizza was so fresh and tasty! This is a mom and pop unique one stop tour of Italian favorites! There’s a Gelateria, a Restaurant, and a Pizzeria all under the same roof! To be fair I will need to update my review when I can come back and try more things on the menu! That being said I will be back! Today we grabbed a white pizza and had them put pepperoni on half of it. I was able to watch the owner start the dough, toss, stretch, and dress it before placing it in the oven. Technique in pizza is an art you can taste it in the final product! Thin in the center. Light and fluffy in the crust! I wish it would have been cooked a little longer because I like a little crunch in the center. The dough was so tasty! The crust around the outside had nice fluffy bubbles that made the crust a treat in itself. I can’t put my finger on it but it was an amazing flavored crust! As we waited I had the chance to talk to the owner who is a NY resident and a Palermo, Sicily native! I added some desserts of course! The cannoli was delicious! Very fresh filling! The cheesecake was rich and creamy.
As previously stated I look forward to trying more items...
Read moreOvercharged us almost $15 more than what was quoted over the phone (we were quoted $50.65) when we went to pick up the order. When we questioned it at the register, because a 30% difference is a pretty huge mistake, and said that doesn't sound right. The guy stuttered and acted nervous like a child who is lying and said the person over the phone that took the order "isnt as good as me at this, he's just a driver" and that he knows what he is doing and the new price was the correct price but wouldn't explain the difference in price even after we asked again if he was sure and if he could add it up again. Not wanting to argue with this guy and trusting him at his word we paid and went back to our hotel. We added up the total based off their menu and guess what we were right. This was not an honest mistake, this guy saw that we from out of town and lied to our face to make a few extra bucks. Which is silly because we would have probably been back another day for more food but after this and the food being below average we will never come back and will make it our mission to let everyone know how unprofessional this place is and how below average...
Read moreSo if you’re in north wildwood don’t even bother. I ordered on grub hub and have been waiting over 2 hours for my food and 45 minutes since it’s been “on the way” according to grub hub.The island of wildwood is 5 miles long. It doesn’t take an hour to get from the crest to north wildwood. Even on a busy weekend. ITS NOT EVEN MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. MAYBE this business should reduce their delivery radius instead of telling me to think before I order from a restaurant in the crest 🧐 the only saving grace currently is that they took $10 off of my order. Coincidentally I tipped exactly $10 so I’m hoping that didn’t come directly from the drivers pocket. I will not be paying for food from Sal’s again, which is disappointing because I’ve picked up from there regularly! The food is good and consistent, but over two hours for a piece of chicken and a tuna hoagie is absolutely unacceptable. UPDATE food came after 2 and a half hours. It was ice cold. AND the tuna hoagie was missing!!!! Thankfully I used grub hub and will be getting a refund from them. I hope that this review will help the people at Sal’s get their head out...
