there is a lot to say about this place. 1st this is a chain eatery from Point Pleasant, NJ. It is a Mexican + Asian fussion place. During my visit, i 1st noticed the atmosphere here in Wilksbare, PA is inviting and semi resembles a boardwalk beach vibe.
the staff was not to bad. nothing bad to say about them beyond 1 person didnt know what 2 of the sauces where and causing me to think my order was screwed up. Also i had wanted an order of nachos but the girl makin my order forgot to make it.
now on to the food... here is the eh part. the part of my order i got was a burrito, chips & guacamole. the burrito was ok. this is where the good stops. the rice, was bland. the chicken was over cooked and lacked flavor. the guacamole is not fresh. it was sour. like you would find from a mass produced product. the size of the burrito was small for the $12 that it was (6in by 3in around). yes the burrito was $12 my whole meal was $21 also part of the size was due to it being lightly wrapped. the Chipolte crema sauce was very light in flavor, i had forgot i had it untill some spilled on my hand. My side, the guacamole & chips, as i stated above was a let down. I have had way better guac from my local grocery store that had better flavor, freshness, & nowhere near sour.
to sum it up. I wish this place the best but this is not a great place for your $ for what you get. with sub par food. not fully trained staff & the mix of flavors... the only thing i see that this place has going for it is atmosphere. i dont see myself...
Read moreI'm very disappointed, not in the food itself (even though it was 2/5) but in the potential this restaurant has and is not living up too. We went to eat there and had a burrito, a bowl with extra protein; and loaded curly fries. I was hoping it would be a quality meal as the restaurant was clean, the pictures on their menu looked so tasty and the price for our 3 items was $50. The service was wonderful and the young woman behind the counter was helpful and pleasant. 5/5 customer service.
The food was the issue. After being served, went to eat out of my bowl to food that was BARELY lukewarm. The hottest part was the hibachi steak that was pretty hot as it was just grilled. The brown rice in my bowl was very undercooked. I was picking hard parts out of my mouth and hearing the clink of hard rice hit the plastic when I threw it in the lid I was using as trash. The food as a whole was underseasoned and lacked a deep taste that their marketing showed. After a while it got hard to keep eating and I just stopped. The curly fries were good! Just could have been hotter.
Had the chef or cooks who made the food took the time and care to make quality food for the price they are charging, maybe my experience would be different.
I don't know if I'd be willing to give this place...
Read moreFirst time trying them. May be the last. I got introduced to this restaurant and their menu item the Chiwawa through ba viral video. I didn't know we had one of these in my area to begin with and got lucky when I googled them. Entering the store it appeared clean and there were two employed behind the counter and no customers in the establishment. I ordered my item like I wanted it and got it like I wanted it. The issue comes from the quality of the ingredients. The chicken was dried out and hard to eat the Chiwawa tasted good but tasted like it was old. Which being my first time I'm unsure if that is how they always taste but I assume they are not supposed to. The queso had a dark film over it like it was sitting a while as well. I should have just taken the cue that because they didn't have any customers in there that it wasn't going to be a good experience. I ate about half and got tired of dried out chicken. May try again but won't seek it out. Next morning and I show a charge on my card for my food with a 20% tip included. I did not tip them for it was a take out order. Their systems automatically place a temporary hold to include a 20% tip until finalized. The purchase posted for the normal price but this is not an efficient way that is customer...
