Excited to come here for a birthday dinner for a friend . Server LISA was initially nice , but never came to check in on us , never changed the grill when it needed to be changed . At the end of our meal , we got the $200 bill . She immediately asked which one of us was going to pay the service charge , and got even more nasty after the tip wasn't to her liking .
Afterwards , we all got up to take a restroom break, and the server followed us around the restaurant harassing us about the tip amount . Told us that we 'are horrible people . ' & then told us that people ' like us ' shouldn't be here and that we shouldn't eat at restaurants like this if we are too poor to afford an appropriate tip . We spoke to the manager RYAN , who didn't seem interested in our complaints . Even looked at his watch while we were speaking .
Been to numerous k pots before and never had such an issue . Completely left our evening in ruins and made one of our guests cry . Good food and atmosphere doesn't matter when servers and service is bad .
UPDATE : looks like we are being harassed by someone friends with the server or manager . We were followed around the restaurant by said server and were called names . We tip based on service . She was unkind , and nasty even when handing us the bill . Dining at a restaurant should not be based on whether you are poor or not . Being poor shouldn't prevent you from having a nice dinner with family or friends if you could afford that one meal for the night .
This is highly unprofessional, and if it continues i will be sure to make this go public , and involve law enforcement for harassment . Can't even leave a review on your experience at a restaurant without being harassed by said restaurant . I've been to numerous other kpots and only had an issue with this one .
Having your friends harass customers just because they left a bad review about a horrible experience they had at the restaurant looks bad for...
Read moreIn all true reality, restaurants like these should add on SERVICE CHARGE. Whether customers leave a tip or not on their own, the restaurant pays their servers their share of the total bill percentage tip that belongs to them for doing their part. Obviously yes if u cannot leave not even $5.00 tip on a $50.00+ bill then go somewhere else where nobody gets your food or drink directly to you while dining-in. And in general speaking, if you were never gonna leave a tip, then simply walk away no need to lie to the server or the manager about the service. If you just simply didn’t have enough to leave a tip or you did not want to leave a tip then just leave ignore everybody. People who have high Restaurant bills or even low restaurant bills and decide not to tip. Yes of course that is their decision to make. But you have to be aware that they pay for your consequences and if you can’t even leave five dollars out of a $50.00+ bill or less or more STAY HOME AND COOK!!! Or GO TO A fast food chain and order off the kids menu or side order menu. I’ve seen in multiple restaurants where people complain about 5 star servers And the owner or the manager pay no mind to the complaints because one complaint out of six months to a year means nothing to them!! Servers who are new in the restaurant industry when they get a bad review or bad comments or complaints they instantly get fired but servers who are the best at their job then everybody else do not get consequences. They get a slap on the wrist and say.“NO BIGGIE JUST ANOTHER CUSTOMER LYING JUST TO GET OUT OF LEAVING THE SERVER A TIP”. Please leave a tip even if its a $5.00 or more depending on how much the bill is and especially How much work you are causing the server to do for you in the 45 minutes You are dining. KPOT SHOULD ADD SERVICE CHARGE EVEN IF IT’S 1 person dining in or multiple people. The franchise will never lose customers over a...
Read moreI first visited a KPOT location when I lived in Maryland and was overjoyed when I learned one was opening less than 30 minutes from my house. I understand that the first few weeks when any new restaurant opens, there will be bumps along the way in service, food, quality, and cleanliness. However, I went the second weekend they were open, and had no issues. And I'm extremely sorry for those individuals who did not have a great experience at this restaurant, and I beg of you to go back and give it another try. KBBQ is so delicious and a healthier dinner option since it's mostly proteins and vegetables! If you are uncomfortable visiting this establishment and feel like you don't know what to do here, please visit YouTube and watch some tutorials on "what to do at a KBBQ (or Korean hot pot) restaurant". I promise you'll feel better having done your research in advance. Now, on to my review. Our server, Kally, was so nice to us and was checking on us throughout the night and offered to cook and turn and cut our meat. The prices may also seem high, but remember that it's all you can eat! Order as many different items as you want and their staff will just keep bringing out tray after tray. I love the make your own sauce bar to dip your meats in as well. You can follow the recipe options they have on a sign above the bar, or you can make your own combination. (Another tip: search "kbbq sauce recipes" on tiktok and you can copy one of those recipes you watch!) Will I return? A HUGE YES. If I could, I would eat here everyday. The staff keeps everything clean, they're helpful, we only waited 15 minutes for a table on a Friday night, and the vibes are chill. This is a perfect date night spot or somewhere new to go with friends for...
