Extraordinary Cupcakes — Restaurant in Williamsburg

I purchased a cake that I ordered for 7/30/17 I have waited over a week to post so I was sure I was over the anger I was feeling. I ordered an 8 inch cake and was told it would be $25. No problem. It was a birthday cake and I asked to have it frosted with a dinosaur presenting flowers to a puppy. A few days before I was to pick it up, I was told the design would cost an extra $20.. Ok, I watch the cup cake shows, I know it could have been amazing, so I said 'go ahead' When we arrived to pick it up the girl behind the counter was talking to a customer who wanted a cup-cake. that's one cup-cake. We were not greeted and had to wait 10 minutes while they talked. When she finished we gave our name and she went in back to pick up the cake. I asked her to open the box, so I could see the $25 cake that I paid $49 for and was extremely disappointed. I said " I am very unhappy with this cake, this is very disappointing, I expected something more that flat icing with a drawing of a dino and puppy. " She said .......................nothing. The cake was for a party within the hour and so we left. We were visiting Williamsburg from out of town and I was ripped off. Easy to do to people who aren't going to come back. Visiting at the Williamsburg Plantation with my family this weekend. Riding by looking for places to browse my Wife decided to have me stop here.

Nice cute little shop. Very busy and I felt that was a good thing. Nice big advertisement from Trip Advisor displayed so we good.

$4.50 a cup cake?????????????????????? I figure if it is Gourmet don't knock it till you try it. The Family each picked one.

Fantastic Vanilla Flip - Wife's choice said cake was dry and icing overpowered the cupcake way too thick.

Extaordinary Cupcake - My Choice Cake done very well cream filling on point tasted like an old skool Hostess Cupcake. WAY TOO MUCH ICING half of what they put on would make it perfect. Couldn't drink enough water to get it down.

Over the top Maple Bacon - My oldest son could not finish his. He said it was soooooooooo sweet and after he warmed it up for 30 seconds in the microwave I could see why it lit up the whole kitchen with its sweetness.

Sensational Smore - My youngest decided to refrain from eating his guess he will get to it before we go back to Woodbridge.

Sorry but we had Cupcakes at Walmart $6.00 for 4 that tasted better. We are just one family one 3 opinions.

Had an INCREDIBLE 1st experience with Extraordinary Cupcakes today! The bakery is extremely clean and tidy with lovely fresh smells coming from the back! The display of the available Cupcakes was neat and clean and very attractive to the eye! The service we received was way above average and exceeded my expectations in every way! The lovely human at the cash register was so sweet and had a warm and welcoming manner that made her so easy to talk to. My husband has Gluten Intolerance and we were in the shop for our upcoming wedding needs! She helped us choose our flavors and made him his gluten free cupcakes on the spot! We were so impressed! As if that wasn't enough accolades, the cupcakes....ladies and gentlemen...these cupcakes are OTHER WORLDLY. I grew up with a Grandmother who owned a traditional bakery and let me tell you....these are HEAVEN! They were slightly warm in the inside and 100% freshly baked. The frosting and filling was amazing. Full stop! I have no idea who this amazing baker is but whoever you are, you are a GENIUS! I CANNOT WAIT for the exact second you contact us about our Gluten Free wedding cake because you are HIRED and my guests are going to FIGHT...
