OK, back to 5 stars. Never gone back and forth before but this is justified. The new review is as follows: My family and I returned to Jason’s Deli at the invitation of Matt the business manager due to a poor review. I did not expect a response from the company and was surprised to receive one. That was impressive and tells me that they truly care what their customers think. I will say this was a the 5 star experience I was hoping for. Matt greeted us and displayed an affable professionalism that truly made us and the other guest in the restaurant feel welcome. I ordered the Carmela which was superb. The Carmela consists of: Three meats - salami, pepperoni, ham - melted provolone, spicy piquillo pepper relish, mayo, toasted sourdough. The sandwich is somewhat spicy and amazing. The preparation of the sandwich was precise and even. The amount of meat was generous and the toasting was quite even on the bread. While the sandwich was tasty the real star of the meal was the French onion soup they just brought back. As many of you know French onion soup is something I enjoy ordering and reviewing if it available on a menu. I was surprised to find the French Onion soup at Jason’s to be on par and even exceeding many more traditional restaurants. The cheese and crouton layer were appropriate and nicely browned. The onions were cooked perfectly. They were neither to hard or soft and had rich flavor. The broth was dark and rich and well-seasoned. Not too salty or bland. For the price point, it is one of the best French Onions in the area. I am deleting the prior 3 star as google says I have exceeded the character limit.......

We order from this Jason’s deli many times a month through door dash. If not a few times a week sometimes. Today was no different. My son ordered the Bigger better BLT with Pepperjack cheese and it arrived with mold on the edge of the cheese. We requested a new sandwich be made and brought through Door Dash, a second sandwich was brought, ONCE AGAIN, with mold on the edge. We had requested without cheese this time, but that wouldn’t have been a big deal otherwise, but the fact that it had mold on it again, was. With any food safety issues we always call the restaurant just to let them know, to prevent others from getting sick. Especially since this is such an inconspicuous place on the cheese. The edge. Anyone who has worked in the food industry knows, this is clearly mold, and the spot for it. My husband spoke with the Manager , who stated that he personally inspected both sandwiches and it was impossible and it was Avocado . Now, we are not idiots, we know the difference between Alittle smeared avocado and growing , fuzzy black/green and white mold on the edge of the cheese. See attached photos. It’s truly sad that this restaurant not only has such low sanitation standards, but even more so, such low sanitation experience, and lack of customer service care. Unfortunately due to this, we will have to stop ordering from there, we absolutely do not want to get sick.

Wow, I just wasn’t impressed. Stopped by around 7 and less then a dozen customers dining in. Four staff were visible, most were cleaning. After I placed my order for the sandwich that comes with corn beef and pastrami and potato soup, I had to wait another 20 minutes for the cashier to prepare my food. The sandwich I tossed as soon as I took a bite. Boring lean cut with no juiciness or fat and piled 6” inches. It doesn’t come close to comparing to the corn beef sandwiches Cleveland, Ohio are known for. The soup was disgusting!!! Saw them take potato pieces, microwave them and added bacon and green onions. They were trying to make it from scratch without cooking, but in a microwave. The ingredients were blending together and the chunks of potato were firm and huge. It was like a really bad can of potato soup. Tossed it out too.

I did not know Jason Deli had a salad bar. This was my first time visiting this location. OMG the salad bar was phenomenal. It was money well spent. Seriously everything on the salad bar was fresh and crisp. The ranch was probably the best in Wilmington. I was greeted by Jesse the manager and I told him that this was my first visit ever to any Jason Deli and he was friendly but.... here is a coaching moment for Jesse. When someone says it there first time you need to capitalize on this and roll out red carpet service. Make a big deal about it. Make the guest remember there first visit in a special way. Ask the customer questions. Build a quick report with the guest instead of here is a menu. Although he was nice to me I really felt like I was just another number to him. That's not how you build a business. I don't care how tired one is. Overall this was a great visit and I will definitely be back for the salad bar now that I know they have one. Dam it was good. Still is...lol The place was clean and everything seemed healthy. The only thing I don't recommend and it's just my opinion is the Mac and Cheese. Tasted like it was straight out of a box and quickly made. Anyways that won't stop me from coming back. I totally recommend this place. Great food and pricing seemed good. Can't wait to go back already. Give it a try if you haven't. They have the best salad bar in town. Hands down. Just sayin!!!

Update 6.30.24 @2:00 pm. I went back and visited again to see if my first visit was a fluke, but to my surprise, it was even better than my first visit. Once again, everything was fresh and excellent. The store was clean, and operations seemed under control. Jason Deli, you just won over a repeat customer. As long as operations stay this way, I will be back and often. I always want to give credit when credit is due. Thank you for the great food. Need to work on smiles from employees, but baby steps, right...😆. Great job, though, and I hope this second review can reach many people because it's a job well done on your part...

Update 7.2.24 @ 11:30 am. Well I went back for a 3rd time in a week and it did not disappoint. Everything was spot on. When a business has good you have a tendency to want to visit the establishment frequently. That is exactly what I have done. It has been money well spent. It's very...

Although I spoke with the owner yesterday about my experience with an employee, it was brought to my attention that 6 months ago, another 1-star reviewer had what sounds like a similar experience to mine. Clearly actions have not been taken to address the issue and I didn't leave the conversation feeling like they would be. So I will give you all a heads up:

If you have never ordered the salad bar before, they aren't going to tell you this, nor are there signs to communicate this, YOU ONLY GET ONE TRIP. So make sure to pack that plate and mix all the food together, use those edges, because unlike any other salad bar I have ever been to, that one plate is it. Now, keep in mind, if you go back to the salad bar to grab even a scoop of pasta salad, an EXTREMELY rude employee is going to berate and publicly embarrass you for attempting to do so. I mean, treat you like the scum of the earth for attempting to revisit the salad bar. When you explain that you have never ordered the salad bar before and if they could please explain, they will continue to chastise you for having the audacity of then wanting to know where to find a clean plate. And lastly, if you calmly state that there is no reason to be treating someone so rudely, they will then turn it around and tell you that YOU are rude for even existing in the vicinity of the salad bar with your "dirty plate".

Now all of you know, enjoy, I will never go back. My meal was $18 by the way, for a plate of salad, a cup of soup, and a fountain drink. The public embarrassment, that left me in tears in front of all of my...
