Finding good food places in Delaware are hard, so whenever I hear about a new establishment that sells the kind of food I like…I make it my business to try it out. I stumbled upon this place from a post on instagram, added it to my to do list, and finally got the chance to visit yesterday. The instagram post said the food was good but warned about not so good service. Because this place is newly opened, I didn’t let that scare me into visting. I’m so glad I did visit because my experience was nothing short of amazing!
I’ll start by saying the place is beautiful. I love the superstar glamour theme it has. There’s a red carpet out front that makes you feel really “Hollywood” when you enter. I love the luxury looking round like booths and the blue suede seating for the tables. Theres even a cute backdrop with the restaurants names with ring light for photo ops. The bar is also very beautiful. Everything looks high end. We went for Happy Hour and we beat the weekend rush most restaurants have. We were seated immediately by this friendly host. Our waitress Danei greeted us right after to take our drink orders. She was so pleasant and sweet. Not sure who server the guy from the instagran review but I can assure you it couldnt have been her because her customer service was on point! Anywho, my daughter and niece got wings and fries (typical kids lol) and my sister and I tried pretty much everything on the happy hour menu. The happy hour menu is different from the regular dinner menu. We had the Crab Deviled Eggs, Salmon & Shrimp Sliders, Buffalo Shrimp, and Cajun Crawfish & Spinach dip with Warm Pita. We also had Lemon Drops because what women doesn’t love a good Lemon Drop. Our food came out pretty quickly as did our drinks. I can say kudos to the bartender becausw that was one of the BEST lemon drops I have ever had. She must have used fresh lemons which is rare but much appreciated. I cant stop raving about the food either. The dip was amazing and the sliders OMG, so good we ordered them again before we left. I ordered from the dinner menu to go as well because I really wanted to try something else but was too full to eat it at the table. I got my dad the turkey wings with yams & rice + gravy. I got myself the lamb chops with mac + cheese and yams. My dad enjoyed his food but there was no gravy on the rice (bummer). My lambchops we small but seasoned well. All in all my dining experience at this place was amazing and I’d return to try more of their menu. Our waitress was also sweet enough to give us free admissions tickets to the restaurant owners lounge located right next door. Ive been to the lounge for brunch on my birthday earlier this year and had a great time. The food there was also amazing so I’ll definitely be using the passes...
Read moreI have been here before for brunch and had an excellent experience however I came here last Saturday with some family from out of town after attending a family funeral. It was only 1:00pm so we didn’t expect them to be busy. When we walked in they were busy at all it was about 20 people in there. I requested a table for 7 and the male host immediately became stressed or irritated and then asked if we had a reservation. I said no. He then said to give him a minute to see what he can do. He comes back and is snatching each menu from the counter and some of my family noticed his attitude and were confused. He then tried to seat us at a both where we would be eating overtop of eachother. My grandmother politely asked why they couldn’t put two tables together like the family sitting a little ways from us and he said cause we don’t have a reservation. MIND YOU THEY ARENT BUSY AT ALL. I’ve seen a Texas Roadhouse busier than that place and they will still find a way to seat you. We were never asked if we wanted to be put on a waiting list or anything because basically they said their reservations were booked for the day. Is this a reservation only restaurant?? If so PUT THAT ON YOUR WEBSITE. Second I have never been to a restaurant that didn’t take a walk in. I’ve been to Hell’s Kitchen and they even take walk ins at time but this is not a Hell’s Kitchen. The seafood spot that is fine dining in Wilmington even takes walk ins!! So please! So since they wouldn’t seat us comfortably my family and I left very upset because our family from out of town wanted to try the food and were excited! I then called and asked to speak to a manager and SHE told me that she instructed the host to not seat us or put 2 tables together because we didn’t have a reservation. The manager should be ASHAMED! Poor business and that’s ignorant to the owner. I’m sure he would be upset if he knew his MANAGEMENT turned down paying customers and they weren’t even packed or busy. A server could have used that great tip from a 7 top table. Lastly this also makes it hard to support your own people especially when you are treated so nasty for NO REASON! Just a family wanting to get food and drinks after a funeral! How sad but guess what big fish grill sat us immediately and gave...
Read moreA colleague and I visited today for lunch. It was my first and most likely my last. My colleague really wanted to, keep the money in our community, so to speak, so we decided to against Timothy’s and came here.
Upon entering there was no one at the door, so we proceeded to seat ourselves however the young woman at the bar, neglecting to speak first, made it a point to say someone would seat us.
Though it’s a huge pet peeve of mine, to be greeted at any establishment I’m going to spend my hard earned money, I overlooked it.
We were seated, our waitress came over, she did speak, took our order and went to put it in. My colleagues asked for lemon with her water, we were later notified they had no lemons, someone was out picking up supplies.
The lemons came and sat on the bar for about 20 mins before the glass was refilled and the lemons brought to the table.
My colleague ordered 2 eggs and home fries, I ordered the strawberry spinach salad. We waited over an hour before the waitress returned stating our order was ready to come out, but they had no walnuts for the salad. It was not busy, there were 3 booths 2 people per table however we only ordered eggs, home fries and a salad. We were purposely here to support, waited patiently over an hour, no one within that time realized they had no walnuts?? We were offered the choice of waiting for the supply person to grab walnuts from shop rite or she could bring us our food and the walnuts would brought out when they were brought back. We opted to wait.
Well the food finally came out and it was apparent that my salad was sitting with the dressing already on it. Anyone that does just a modicum of cooking knows spring mix and spinach wilts very quickly. Nevertheless, I didn’t complain. Despite the wilt it had the potential to be a good salad. My colleague enjoyed her meal.
Disappointing would best describe my experience at this restaurant. I like to see us win, so I won’t dissuade anyone from patronizing, I’m just sharing my one and done experience.
Just for giggles, I never got the WALNUTS for my salad,...
