Waffle House — Restaurant in Wilson

I love this location because they're adjacent to a Circle K which offers truck parking, I love that it is trucker friendly. I've stopped here twice. Once in the dead-ass middle of the night, I was in between delivery stops. I walk in, they're both sitting down, place is empty, but the grill was hot. They did not act like I was bothering them and had my food ready to go and packed up, lickety-split!! AND THEIR COOKS KNOW WHAT AN EGG COOKED OVER MEDIUM MEANS!!!

the second time was closer to breakfast like 5:30-6amishy time. There were people in there eating, but the host and cook were still friendly, welcoming, and they packaged my food nicely. Notice I keep mentioning packaging. I've been to some waffle houses where they do not care and just throw your food in the containers. Oftentimes, we dont even care about that, but this place?? Very nice. And they have a condiment bar right across the bar so you can pick up all your little packets without having to ask for em. Will visit every time I pass it...

Went in to order, I specifically told them no bacon because we do not consume it. Cook put bacon on it. I turn around and took it back in there. This man literally took the bacon off and proceeded to give the waitress the sandwich back to give to me……. So I told them that I was not accepting it and he needed to cook it over freshly made with no pork. He got upset and someone else made my sandwich over. I guess it’s one band one sound because when it came back out and I ate it tasted like they dump all the salt they had in the establishment on it. They gave me pork sausage instead of chicken. Charged me for cheese in my eggs but I didn’t get the cheese I paid for. They were just rude, unprofessional. Two things. ONE! If I am paying MY money for something I AM ABOUT TO CONSUME. Sunday August 1, 2021 at 2:15pm. Been eating here for 20 years, every year. Pulled in today & the far 1/2 of the restaurant was closed off with a rope sectioning it off. Tables within were clean, but not set. The other half of the restaurant was dirty chaos. Food, people & dirty dishes everywhere. Empty tables covered in dirty dishes. Even the counter was full & the 2 seats that were not were dirty. The Kitchen was a mess. I don’t want to know what the bathrooms looked like. There were 7 happy employees working but with a line of 6 people waiting. Was there a party? All of us in line left. My husband & I always travel with Plan B: snack lunches in a cooler in the car.
